some brief info in 1927, an AM long-wave transmitter was established for the State Radio Broadcasting Company in the new Kalundborg Radiophonic Station on the Gisseløre isthmus near Kalundborg. The transmission frequency was 260 kHz with a nominal transmission power of 7.5 kW. The antenna consisted of two 105 m high three-legged steel masts connected by a single antenna wire, and was built by Nakskov Shipyard. In 1954, the masts were extended to 118 m and provided with 23 m wide cross booms that carried eight top wires for a so-called Alexanderson antenna. From 15 November 1982, the transmission power was increased to 300 kW and the frequency changed to 243 kHz. from June 16, 2011, with a power of 50 kW a Canadian-produced transmitter from Nautel. 31-12-2023 closed down forever thanks for video 🦊

Hello, Is DR gone from LW? Otherwise are there other stations on MW/LW switching off today? To be able to record today
@mutezone9 ай бұрын
I included all the details of the closedown of 243 kHz in the description & also did a community post. I am not aware of any other stations switching off before the last day of the year.

Queen of Denmark steps down and DR Langbølge LW ended.

What will replace this station on 243khz.from Denmark?
@mutezone9 ай бұрын
I have not seen any information as to who will take over 243 kHz, but at a guess it would be nothing. LW is becoming a relic band but also too inefficient & expensive to keep transmitting in the modern digital era.
@rkmklz75629 ай бұрын
Why are stations closing on this band... since MW..or AM has too much stations on it?
@mutezone9 ай бұрын
Much less listeners than in the past, too expensive to transmit because of rising energy prices, parts for Long Wave transmitters becoming much harder to obtain. MW is also becoming a victim of this too & stations are continuing to close down on that band for the same reasons.
