Mutton Jalfrezi Recipe | Lamb Jalfrezi recipe | Easy recipe | Restaurant style mutton jalfrezi | British Indian Restaurant Style LAMB JALFREZI
Ingredients
● Mutton (Boneless) 500g
● Vegetable Oil 2 tbsp
● Onions 2
● Bell pepper 1
● Tomato 1
● Green chilies (slit lengthwise) 2
● Carrot 1
● Ginger-garlic paste 1 tbsp
● Tomato paste 2/3 cup
● Cumin seeds 1 tsp
● Turmeric powder 1 tsp
● Garlic powder 1/2 tsp
● Ground coriander 1 tsp
● Mutton stock 3/4 cup
● Soy sauce 1 tsp
● Garam masala 1 tsp
● Black pepper powder 1/2 tsp
● Red chili powder 1 tsp
● Lemon juice 1 tbsp
● Garlic cloves 6-7
● Cinnamon stick 1 inch
● Bay leaf 1
● Black pepper 10
● Green Cardamom 3-4
● Salt to taste
Instructions
1. Boil the Lamb:
Boil the lamb pieces in water with a pinch of salt, a few cloves of garlic, cinnamon stick, Green cardamom, black pepper and a bay leaf until they are tender. This usually takes about 30-40 minutes, depending on the cut of meat.
Once boiled, drain the lamb and set it aside. Save the broth for later use.
2. Marinate the Lamb:
In a bowl, mix yogurt, turmeric powder, lemon juice, garlic powder, red chili powder, and a little salt. Add Lamb pieces and let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.
3. Cook the vegetable:
Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add Slit green chili and Sauté for few seconds.
Add carrot and sauté for a minute. Add 1 Tomato and Sauté for another minute. Then add capsicum and an onion and cook for two minutes.
Add salt and black pepper, mix well and set them aside.
4. Prepare the Jalfrezi Sauce:
In the same pan, add the remaining oil.
Add the cumin seeds and let them sizzle for a few seconds.
Add the chopped onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.
Add the ginger-garlic paste and sauté for another minute until the raw smell disappears.
Add tomato paste.
Add the ground coriander, salt. Cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring continuously.
5. Cook lamb:
Add marinated lamb and mix well.
Add lamb stock 3/4 cup. Reduce heat to low, Cover the pan and let it simmer for 20-25 minutes.
Add garam masala and mix well.
6. Add vegetables:
Add vegetable and soy sauce and cook for a minute.
7. Serve:
Serve hot with steamed rice, naan, or roti.
