I agree with Sarah, it was best that Tanjiro didn't talk about his own trauma, it was about Kazumi's moment to lash out and Tanjiro did the right thing to remain calm and kind as he did so

But it also wouldn't be a bad thing if Tanjiro told his trauma as a response. Just as much as Kazumi has the right to grieve at that moment, Tanjiro also has the right to explain his situation when someone questions his experience considering what recently happened to him. Yes it's been around 2+ years since then, but you don't just "move on" from seeing your ENTIRE family massacred with your little sister turned into a demon. It was nice for him to do what he did, but it's also understandable if he told his own experience considering how it would've felt to be in Tanjiro's shoes confronted with such accusations that he knows nothing just because he's a "kid" as if age has anything to do with experiencing trauma. That's why like Adam said, there's no right or wrong answers because both of them have their own traumas which make either response understandable.

Agreed😃 I think it is Samurai way just like Giyu did same to Tanjiro. Giyu obviously has same kind of trauma but he told nothing about it to Tanjiro. He just shouted angrily for Tanjiro to show the reality. Or perhaps, no sympathy is needed for the one who already has a certain way to go.

@@hachi1404 the reason Giyu lashed out at Tanjiro in episode one is becuase Tanjiro and Nezoku senario is similar to Giyu's own trauma so he had a PTSD moment. Gets explained this season in Hashira training arc So basically, Giyu was yelling at himself, not so much Tanjiro

@@cottoncandykawaii2673 Yes, and again I agree. All I'm saying is, IF Tanjiro did lash out as well, by saying he experienced something similar, too, it would be completely understandable. Would it be the best response from Tanjiro? Not really. But the same can be said when Kazumi initially lashed out at him when all Tanjiro did was try to comfort Kazumi. You see what I'm saying? Both reactions, being calm or lashing out, are completely understandable reactions from BOTH of them. That's why there are no right or wrong answers because both of them have their own traumas. I'm not saying Tanjiro should lash out like him, no. All I'm saying is he could lash out as well and it would be understandable, just like what both adam and sarah said in the episode.

The last episode(E6) mentioned that Muzan is the only demon who can transfer human to demon.(at least so far.) So when Tanjiro smell the demon in his home, that should be Muzan. And talk about the age, Tanjiro is about 15 years old right now. It means he lost his family about 12. The story is around 1912, so there are tall buildings and train in Tokyo, but in the country, they still look old. But at that time, they still marry early. I love how Tanjiro react to Mr. Kazumi. He is so mild not to mention his own life to make him feel worse. Mr. Kazumi has already suffer from her death and regret not to protect her. Tanjiro know that felling so well, so he will never rub salt into his wound.

Just to explain the timeline a bit. They are currently in the Taisho Era. This would comprehend the early 1900 till 1915. That’s why Tanjiro was distraught when he went to Tokyo for the first time (country bumpkin). Tanjiro at that moment he is 15 years old. The demon who ravaged his house, was when he his 13/14 years old. Nezuko is 14 at the moment.

A heads up! The wife and child aren’t Muzan’s actual family, the author mentioned that Muzan killed the actual husband and replaced him. Thats why Tanjiro said the wife and child are human. Muzan normally disguises himself as human to gain money, political power etc.

I feel the same with Sarah, the feelings that Kazumi had were legitimate so Tanjiro wanted to let the moment be about him. Being through the same thing allows Tanjiro to show the kindness that Kazumi needed at the time, and that was enough, there was no need to turn the focus over to his own story.

Gyu missed it just by half a day....but I don’t know if he had survived if he met muzan in that isolated hill.....muzan would've killed him to keep him silent... Tanjiro only survived becouse he was in crowd and later with lady T.

Tanjiro was 13 years old when his whole family except Nezuko was slaughtered. He is now 15 years old. Nezuko is currently 14 years old, one year younger than Tanjiro. Also Urokodaki did say that only Muzan can turn humans into demons.

So listening to you two talk, I feel like you’d really enjoy watching Death Note. Very different in genre, but it keeps you on your toes just as much (if not more so) than demon slayer. It has been mentioned thet Muzan is the only known demon to be able to transform humans into demons (via infusing blood in a wound, in this case a sratch in the neck). So, you would asume that the demon in Tanjiro's home was Muzan, plus the fact that he didnt eat their family, so the reason he attackes them was probably to make nezuko a demon and let her feed into her own family? Thats not a spoiler, its only my Theory, dont worry.

14:45 There is another factor, namely how much blood Muzan gives someone when he transforms them. As noted by this demon, Muzan must have given Nezuko a lot of his blood for her to be so strong (albeit not just anyone can survive so much of his blood either).

Love your reaction as always! about Tanjiro not sharing his backstory with the other dude- keep in mind that Japanese media is more nuanced, because (1) Japanese culture relies a lot on facial excretion, body language, and visual cues for context, (2) it has a strong age-based hierarchy, and (3) it is a more introverted culture. I think all 3 are shown in the scene and give an explanation: the older guy is not only calling Tanjiro a kid, but he is establishing himself as an older individual. Then, Tanjiro holds his hand. The animators clearly show the effects of 2+ years of ruthless training, and the guy notices it too. I think that at that moment, combined with Tnajro's warm and understanding facial expression, the guy undersends that he does not know what Tanjiro has been through, but it must have been so so hard. There is basically no need for Tnajiro to share the details because the man already knows that they are equals in grief

This is a little off topic, but I really recommend “A Silent Voice”. It’s an anime movie and it’s legitimately my favorite movie just in general. I think it’s truly a masterpiece and captures and portrays the topic very well nicely. The animation, voice acting, and sound design is all stunning and I think Sarah would really like it!!

Muzan just needs to make a hole and put his own body in the victim.... And the amount of blood you get from Muzan is kinda like human talent that is fixed by birth.....and muzan recognised the demon slayer uniform and sword, so the new demon was just a distraction.... And demons can't kill each other so when they have conflict they just immobilise the losing one and put him up for sunlight.

Heyy Sarah and Adam, i would like to give you a recommendation to react The First Slam Dunk Movie by Takehiko Inoue. It's one of the best sports manga and anime of all time. This show is on same level with Haikyuu and maybe arguably better than Haikyuu. In fact, the author of Haikyuu was inspired by Takehiko Inoue (Slam Dunk Writer's). The animation is on another level, It's very good at giving the impression of real basketball movements. More importantly, I want to know from athlete perspective about The First Slam Dunk Movie. A bit complicated, demons can get stronger by eating humans but also by getting a big amount of blood by Muzan. But if you get too much of his blood you die, also once you have enough of Muzan's blood you can share it.
