I’m not shaming or anything but we often grow up under the impression that being a Dr, your first car will likely be a German Machine then you see Drs buying entry level cars like Suzuki😩. What has the economy come to.

It's got nothing to do with the economy but prioritizing important things. No use trying to please strangers and suffering in silence, expensive cars, have expensive insurance, expensive maintenance, more money petrol compared to entry level cars, people have other important things to spend money on, it's not only cars. And as a first time car buyer, it's only fair you buy an entry level car and upgrade with time should you have money to waste on a car.

Great content, I have been watching some of your videos for some time now, and I noted that you are against buying second hand GTI's. Could you please share some of your input on that as I am considering buying a polo 6c gti manual with 100k kms

One thing I can tell you with those second hand Vrrrpha's, it's highly unlikely that the previous owner was easy on the gearbox and second hand GTI's/Golf 7 what not, usually have gearbox issues because of this. Its not advisable to buy a car that has clocked way over 100 000 KM anyway. I know a person in my neighborhood who bought a 2nd hand Golf 7 R, that thing didn't even last 2months after buying it and its parked under a tree now with no gearbox.

Hey Muzi. How do you get insurances to give you a insurance quote without the car? Last time I called MiWay they said they can’t help me unless the car is on the floor and I’ve gotten approval from the bank

You have to do an online quotation, don't call them. Some insurers don't offer online quotes though. Here's a list of the platforms I use: 1. Hippo.co.za 2. Absa Activate 3. Naked insurance App 4. Auto & General website

From my experience it’s the same thing But ke you can always negotiate a financing I also did that when my mom bought a car The dealer did the financing on her behalf and we also did the financing ourselves through banks The interest rates were the same That is when I proved that sometimes it’s the same thing but I once heard that dealers do add a certain percentage of their own towards financing if they do it for you and also banks too so I am not sure how true is that hence I say it’s the same to me

I went to one of the car dealership looking for swift GL that was 185k, finance was done i was no deposit balloon payment 55k installment was R3699. No deposit no balloon was going for R4100 13% interest 😞😔 . I think i would stick to Public transport for some months

How many credit applications can one have before affecting the credit record? I recently did a credit application and saw a better deal at another dealer, can i still proceed with an application at this new dealer?

Bank told me the more applications you make the more your score drops coz its on record that you applied here and there even the deaers can see that when they apply for you. So maybe you don't have a great score just try be certain on what you want first but if its good then you can afford a few applications on your name. Its rough out here

Your credit score only gets affected if you do a credit application. If you only do a quotation for the car without proceeding to finance application you won't have any problems.
