I drove from Gaborone to Swakopmund (1500km) with a Baleno. I would say the ride was smooth. Baleno is very fuel efficient especially if you drive long distance but if you're not driving it like a mad man.

Decided earlier this year to get a Suzuki Swift (I got the GLX in auto because I want an easy life). Also got Naked and I have never been happier. I used your videos to guide my decisions and I am so so thankful. The Swift is an amazing vehicle honestly.

@ccrraazzyyggiirrll5 ай бұрын
@@Thokozile_Tee I don't have any problems when I'm on the highway - if a really fast vehicle passes by it does sometimes shake but only if you're not moving (so at a robot for example) but it doesn't bother me. I don't have issues and I've recently started doing long distance solo drives.

This was fantastic to watch. Firstly as Capetonians who travel to EC in December, we are used to the long distance hours. I drive -+13/14hrs from Cpt to Qumbu (home). You get the Beaufort West and you still have a looong way to go! I did the Jhb-Cpt twice last year alone, out of necessity and without the overnight rest. It was strenous but i absolutely loved it at the same time. The N1 is therapeutic and it makes you see how vast how our country is. Id do it again but in a road trip typa vibe with a second driver and sleepover in somewhere in the Northern Cape cities like you guys did. 🎉

I drove a renault kwid from Pretoria to cape town...more than 3 times. Now that was fun. I have great respect for the little car. Drove through potholes...those little steel rims held up rather well. Did that trip in heart of winter, i mean heavy rains on the N1 and on the back R roads to Nigel. It did it with a smile. Yes goes the trucks coming past you really gave the car a push and pull, had to hold on to that steering wheel for dear life. What an adventure. In the end, its not what you drive, but how you drive it.

Fifty years ago, we travelled across South Africa 🇿🇦 in large 2-litre sedans, towing 2m heavily laden trailers, and those cars, even some 2.5l ones, had less power than this Swift. Young people lack something, surely. I'll do Alldays, Nigramoep, Sendelingsdrift, Union's End, Hluhluwe or Agulhas in that Swift, from anywhere. In one year alone, I did the distance from Tshwane to eKapa 29 times: 14 return trips, one final leg. I drove it myself, each leg non-stop. Boomers are just more tenacious, as our 1960s mindset is right.
