This is a movie that my Father loved, ( we have Scottish and Scots Irish in his family ) listening to this reminds me of him . He passed away this past Summer, my nephew played the bagpipes for his internment. I am crying as I pen my comment.

Three beautiful people! Mel was absolutely gorgeous in this film...he lost the love of his life & even the Princess couldn't give him the same feelings, she was smitten with him..he wasn't, he was devastated and hurt still over loosing his only love..and died knowing he could be with her as well...this music captures this more than any other piece of music heard in a film....

Eh I dont know about that. William clearly wanted to live on, find another love, and build a family....while no one would take the place of Muron I think William did have feelings for Isabelle (certainly an attraction), and under other circumstances, if at all possible, he probably would have chosen to move on with her...its not fir nothing that upon their first meeting he remarks that she reminds him of Muron.

He refused. She said, sobbing, "But if you die, it'll be horrible". He then said this line. I watched this about 20 years ago but still remember it so clearly ....
