A passenger ship MV Princess of the Stars has sunk off in the waters of Romblon, Philippines on Saturday. Gov't officials said they saw Sulpicio Lines' Princess of the Stars capsized. The ship may have approximately 700 passengers and crews.
It's traveling in the rough seas amid a fury typhoon when the engine failed. Hundreds are feared dead. The typhoon has killed at least 141 people and 255 people are missing, most of them fishermen. The massive ferry which was built to hold about 2,000 people, flipped over about a mile off the shore of Sibuyan Island as typhoon Fengshen pummeled the Philippines.
While it is a tragic accident in its entirety, it could have been avoided. We all know that the Philippines is composed of 7,107 islands and traveling by boat is the most common means of transportation. But why did they permit the boat to sail off risking the lives of 700 people? Is there no more such thing as postponement or cancellation of the travel? What's the role of PAGASA and the Coast Guard. Are they all busy practicing the papaya dance for KZbin upload? How old are the vessel and inter-islands boats? I think the issue is hopeless and the only thing that we can do is pray.
Let's all pray for the deceased, their surviving families and hope for the betterment of the situation. Here's a short prayer to our Blessed Mother.

ngayon lang ako nag karoon ng lakas loob makita ang barko.. last month was hard for my Family, My dad that came from denmark and my mom together with uncle, aunt & cousin rush home to celebrate my dads birthday last june 22... was in that ship ...salamat sa mga nag pray sa kanila..and sa nakikiramay..

yes,there´s a problem w/ PAG-ASA.low tech tlaga tau s pinas.di gaya sa japan updated talaga sila malaman mo na for a whole week kung tag-ulan or tag-araw.nasaan na ba ang pera? daming mga tax nabayaran nasaaan ang pera? kahit kuha kalang copy ng mga documents,birth cert....etc... ang mahal!tapods walng pera!

We pray form mre survivors of this tragc event..We must now thnk of retrivn thse who are trapd insde ofthe ship. We mst now considr tht our govrnt and its coast guard are lcking of persnell to extract those trapd inside. For this I plead that the governemt recruit volontary aid from the thousands of qualified divers from the filipines local and international to aid extraction efforts for those who wich to hve afinal resting place for thir love ones...PLEASE SPREAD THIS IDEA!! we will help.divers

no matter how much thousands of pesos they paid and spent to the poor victims and survivor in their fuckin boat they get back millions of dollars from their insurance company. they are not the loosers. we are the loosers. we lost the people we love most, admired most and cheerished most. they dont have any idea how hardships and sacrifice their parents and relatives undergone just to let them finished college and inspire them to get better life
