What makes the berg and possibly now the range as well unique is the ”dropping out of the sky” part. You can get some very unique flights out of them especially for down hill shots where if you throw a regular putter to high it will glide with the fade, where the berg will just fall almost straight down even while fading.

I'm really looking forward to getting my hands on one of these. I do bag a Berg, but it is slightly deep in the hands and makes it a little harder to fan grip than I'd like. And when I'm doing shorter, very straight approaches I have to really pop on it to make sure the fade doesn't kick in. The Range seems like it will do a lot of what I MAKE my Berg do without nearly as much effort.

I watched this video last week, but had to come back and comment. Got my hands on the range Friday for the Space Race and loved it. I may be extremely biased as it helped me take down my first tournament win ever (albeit MA3 lol). It was so smooth to throw and held pretty much whatever line I put it on. Not my favorite disc to put with, but that's down to the slick rigid plastic, but the shape of the disc feels amazing in the hand.

Iv never loved the berg so when I signed up for space race I didn’t have high hopes for the Range, but after using it it totally suprized me! I use it way more than I ever would have imagined lots of FH approach shots but great for either! I call it a watt with no glide

Our club did the space race as a normal round with short holes so I got to putt with the Range a lot. I actually really liked it as a putting putter. Traded a few other discs for others’ extras they didn’t want. Found it a good stability and feel to putt with.

Range is my main approach disc. It’s Fun off the tee on shorter holes as well. It made my bag after the first throw. I’m looking forward to see it in some different plastic types.

If you get a K3 berg and season it in, it flips up pretty well. I bag a K1 and K3 that are almost two completely different flights on the same heizer angle.

i have a 99% mvp/axiom/streamline bag, but i bag 3 bergs, k1 soft, k3 hard, and a k1 soft X. I desperately want a MVP berg, but it seems to just be similar to a k3 hard berg. I would compare those 2. they will be the most similar, I think the k3 hard plastic will mould over time into a well seasoned disc for those straight to right fairway lines in that speed caliber.

Good video. I don’t need a longer Berg. I like that I can reliably throw it 120-150 and know it’s not going to go 200 like my throwing putter can at times. My search is for a stable throwing putter for that 175-200 range that will reliably fade at the end. I tend to throw ani so most tend to burn over for me on full shots. I have a jawbreaker zone that goes nice and straight for me on full shots and my Z zone falls out left too soon. Still looking…….

I think the Range is a great compliment to the Berg... I bag and love both of them. I was torn since I love the Berg, but I also love MVP and wasn't sure how I was going to feel about the Berg imitation, but the Space Race had me liking the disc after the first hole. Now when I do one disc rounds, I tend to grab the Range over the Berg due to its straightness.

2 of my Bergs are 7 years old 1 straight K1Berg 1 understable K3 Berg I really want the Range to replace/backup my old K3 I don't want to beat up another K1 Berg so my backup is the Lonestar Armadillo in Founders plastic. It's a straight Berg right out the box with about 10%extra glide

As someone who has been critical of this channel’s treatment of the Berg…The comment about natural Anny vs Hyzer release I think is perfect and probably is the source of a lot of difference of opinion. The Berg is terrible if you don’t land it flat or plop/helicopter it down on the target. It hates any kind of edge landing. Meanwhile the range released flat to Anny does not look appealing as an approach disc - but the hyzer releases flew really nice.

Tried the Range for the first time tonight, it's great for turnover approach shots. It's quite forgiving if you come off the line too. My only putter I can trust to anhyzer the whole way

I've thrown a Pilot a lot. Almost putted with them for a good bit of time! The Ascend is pretty nifty, and the Trace is one of the most slept on discs in disc golf!

Rant moment. When we ( the community ) say "Overstable"... we know what that means. When we say "Understable"... we know what that means. But if Overstable, means OVER STABLE, and Understable means UNDER STABLE.... then Stable... means NEUTRAL. It can't be OVER stable, if STABLE means OVERSTABLE. So when people say "It's so much more stable".... you're not saying what you want to say. It doesn't mean what you want it to mean. When people see a beefy disc hyzer out so hard and go "oh it's so stable" thatssssssss not what stable means. Stable means not likely to give way, firm, solid, steady, fixed. So if Overstable means it will hyzer out, and Understable means it has more turn or anhyzer, then Stable needs to mean Neutral. The hill I died on.

I use an animal for this purpose. Goes dead straight, and most importantly, NOT far. I can throw close to full power shots with it and it just doesn't go far.

There's really like 20 discs on the market and every brand has their own name for each of the same mold. There's not that many ways to design a disc.

well, you threw the berg on the first shot and adjusted the Range after it, I think if you had thrown the Range first and the berg second you would have had another result. Btw I don't like the berg.
