The big part you neglected to mention about JohnE'S marshall incident is that she couldn't second it because she wasn't in a position to make the call. She was over 60' away. Not paying attention is one thing as a player, not in the vicinity as a PDGA marshall is a dereliction of her job at the time.

@@triz313 I can't speak to what she was doing, be it on the phone or not. I can say that during the live video that Kevin Gleason was shooting, it took her over 35 seconds to get to the disc after the call was made. You can see her walking up to it almost instantly after the call as Kevin panned the video, looking for her. That is unacceptable. With Robert standing directly behind the action, unable to make a call, the situation is set up for failure.

What remedy do the players and PDGA members have, when the PDGA official who receives a salary and an all-expense paid trip to the tournament in exchange for fulfilling one responsibility, completely fails in that responsibility by not paying attention to tournament play when she was needed most, during a 2-person playoff where there is no other player on the card to second a call? Is she subject to disciplinary action? Should she reimburse the organization for the expenses it paid to have her there: travel, food, lodging, clothing?

Thanks for the look into these decisions. As a former TD, I know that things are not exactly as they seem, and some people have ulterior motives for some complaints and observations. However, I believe that the PDGA has more information than we have here, and, as such, I have to give them the benefit of the doubt in the accuracy of their decisions. The game is changing, from the 1970's, when I started playing DG, to what it is today, and the PDGA has to change with it. I think they have the best of the sport and competition in mind.

Oakley is honestly worse than Nikko in terms of the rage. Its an almost constant thing during the round no matter what is going on. Misses a 90 footer = freakout, hits a tree = freakout, MAKES a one chain putt = freakout. Nikko at least is kind of aware of it and only freaks out during bad plays but oakleys issue is more of an undiagnosed rage disorder type of thing

@@cromandum217Who F-ing cares how he acts as long as he doesn’t direct it at anyone. Anyone who played sports has seen that behavior numerous times. I don’t take it personally, because they clearly are mad at themselves and not who they are competing against. I went golfing one time with my dad and a couple of his friends. One of the guys was having a bad round and on one of the last holes he threw his club like 100’. I just laughed at him and he didn’t get mad at me at all. In fact it cheered him up a little. Does it kind of suck to play with someone being so negative? Sure. Do I let it affect me? Absolutely not! Let them embarrass themselves. Does any other sport discipline this type of behavior? They don’t as long as they don’t direct it at other people. Like when that WR (can’t remember his name) took his helmet off and threw it at the ground and it bounced back up and hit him in the face. Instant karma and hilarious. Better give him a 6 month to 1 year suspension? Ridiculous. The Nikko one made sense because he directed it at someone.

@@cromandum217 Thin skin. Part of the point I was trying to make was people can’t deal with any adversity anymore. It should make you better. To not let anything bother you. I like to watch bowling on TV and think it’s ridiculous when a pro bowler freaks out when they hear a tiny little sound. Dude you’re a pro bowler. I should be able to stand on the lane screaming at you and have zero affect on how you perform. I always liked in the movie For The Love of The Game when it shows how his character completely shuts everything out when he’s pitching. This has always been part of sports and life. I agree they should be talked to and given warnings, but not just give them a season long suspension. Fines should come first. It’s technically taking free speech away. Again as long as it’s not directed at anyone, let them have a melt down and watch them dig their own hole.

I love your videos. Thank you for all the great work. I have concerns about the current organizational structure of the PDGA. The process where the Chairman is appointed and subsequently selects three assistants to make decisions seems to lack sufficient democratic input. Could we consider an alternative structure, such as a representative board composed of 12 active players, elected through a confidential voting process? This would ensure a broader range of player perspectives are considered in the decision-making process. Also, on sensitive topics like the inclusion of transgender athletes in events, it's crucial that the governance reflects the views of the majority, as opposed to a small minority. The current system might not adequately balance these interests. A more representative board could address such issues with greater fairness and inclusivity.

Did the PDGA get it right with these disciplinary actions? JRay - yes by his own admission in fact, I thought he got off easy but I'll buy some plastic from him because he's always shot straight with me. JohnE - no! since there were only two players and the PDGA official was over 200 feet away talking instead of doing their job, the suspension should have gone to the official. Only when he raised his voice did the official notice something was amiss. Eric O. - it's really unfortunate that he allows himself to become so upset over a game, dude, take up fishing and hang out with some old people - come by my place and you can do both.

How does the PGA Tour do this stuff, disc golf needs to adopt it their model cause this happens OFTEN, where tournaments are setup by people and those tournaments get canceled because the TD cant do it for some reason. Then PDGA has the terrible rule that TD's can't be exchanged with another TD. Atleast thats what my hometown TD said. AND no sponsors of the tournaments were paid their money back nor the people who signed up to play. 6 Tournies, THE ENTIRE SEASON for my city all 6 competitions canceled. it was disheartening. and if its happening on the Masters, it most DEFINITELY is happening smaller scale. Stop pretending the pdga operates fairly or by a standardized set of rules. First off, there are no objective rules in disc golf because the sport is self policing and players lie. Second the disciplinary process has zero transparency from complainants to who they are complaining about, zero. In real law, where fairness is valued, people have a right to see complaints levied against them to properly answer, the pdga will NOT show you those complaints and thus you will not have a clue on what specifically to answer to. Lastly, the disciplinary board including Robert leonard are a JOKE of a group of people, anonymous, allowing them to hand out punishments like they spin a wheel. I was attacked by dahlin boenke and Jerome Knott at an event because Jerome wanted to run his mouth and lied about me stealing discs, dahlin pled guilty to a misdemeanor and Jerome and goons used pdga banned language and hate speech. Dahlin got 6 months suspension for class a violation. Jerome got 6 months probation for class c. And another individual the pdga refused to try to identify. But my mean words got me the same punishment as j ray. There is no standard, fairness, or objective bias in these fart knockers decisions. This system cuddles crybabies and cowards who would rather complain after the fact than approach someone on the card.

McCray's card also have Eagle McMahon, Paul McBeth, and Ricky Wysocki. Eagle and Paul teed off without issue. JohnE teed off, without ever looking in my direction until after he saw his disc land, and then threw a fit bc of where I was at and wanted me to move. I said no, i'm fine. Wysocki said he was fine, and teed off no problem. I have video of the whole card's tee shots. Just clips of them throwing, and it looks like I'm closer than where I'm standing bc I was zoomed in. I was using my phone, so not a big camera rig or anything. There were a dozen people standing right next to the tee pad on the other side of the cross ties that act as a retaining wall, and he said nothing to all of them. So yeah, JohnE is a dick on the course.

Until the PDGA gets officials on each card there will be controversy. It ridiculous to force players to call fouls on each other. How can the PDGA levy a harsh penalty on JohnE when they weren’t even represented on the hole? It’s therefore hearsay.

Class D offenses go on all of the time at the tournaments. TD's are not going to call anyone on their drugs or drinking because they are doing it too. I suspect many of these discgolf shops/clubs/TD's are simply drug fronts/money laundering mechanisms. The suspect drug front TD's/shops never have prices on anything and their player packs are super lame and consist of old outdated stock they dump on players. Florida has this going on.

If you’re going to be a professional athlete act like it. You shouldn’t behave like a child when you’re on the course. This is what my coaches in Jr High and Highschool taught us back in the 70s so we wouldn’t act poorly when we were adults. One may not always agree with the rules but if one knows them, one should know the consequences of not following them. Unfortunately life is not always fair. Just my two cents.
