Nice review, thanks! You did a good job about talking what each disc does compared with expectations, as well as comparing them for a lot of shots that most reviews simply don’t cover.

Good rerview! Im also waiting for my Simon Hex to arrive. I actually hope that it flies a bit more stable than the numbers suggest because I already bag a origin and a beat in mako3, so the understable mid is well covered :D
@deserttrekmedia Жыл бұрын
For sure. If this one is any indicator it shouldn't be nearly as understable as those. Especially not the origin!

I am excited to get my glow hex... And a bunch of other mvp molds that I have been wanting to try. I have yet to throw the zenith, wrath, reactor, and resistor. How beat in is your MD1? That is nice that the hex is more stable then the numbers would suggest.
@deserttrekmedia Жыл бұрын
It’s not too beat in. Maybe thrown it two dozen times. So I would say still pretty new. I’m about to do with with the wrath but I’m finding the plastic feels really nice!

The Mindbender is a lot less stable than regular c-line MD1 though.
@deserttrekmedia Жыл бұрын
Yeah I realized that just recently. So id imagine a c line md1 would be more comparable to the hex right?

Try the Eric Oakley Pathfinder. It booted my mind bender, buzzz ss, and Z buzzz from my bag. The hex is a little more stable so has a purpose still.

Mmmmm. Does it fly different than regular pathfinders?
@jaythejuiceman3000 Жыл бұрын
@@deserttrekmedia Doesn't seem as flippy from what I hear. I was told it is a little more stable. As someone with a lot of torque I like the Eric Oakley Pathfinder more that any other straight flying mid I have thrown. Whats the worst that can happen? You end up with a sick disc in the collection?
@NickCarroll Жыл бұрын
In my experience with a Neutron Hex it's more stable than my Star Mako3, and I would also give it something like a 5 4 0 1 or possibly 5 4 0 1.5 since MVP likes those half numbers.

Mmm yeah compared a majo I’ve thrown I would say the same thing. I’m glad you confirmed that!

Man I would LOVE if you would make a review serie on different discs of the same company ex: destroyer, wraith, shryke, tern, boss, mystere. and compare flights with a tracer. You have good control and power. Im studying discs but I cant break 350 cause there is so much snow here. It could be any company. I love what you do Thank you
@deserttrekmedia Жыл бұрын
Heck yes. Thank you for the idea. Would the tracer be helpful because it’s hard to see the flight of the discs?
@zacdarider Жыл бұрын
@@deserttrekmedia no, but maybe it would help to compare their flights. Its not an issue tho this aspect is pretty clear already. I also like that you put color walls to call your shots

@@deserttrekmedia I suggest that cause I have way too many overlaps and have a hard time sorting em. Ex: tl3, teebird, teebird3, dark rebel..

A Buzzz is 5/4/-1/-1 so there’s that. Eclipse Glow Hexes are more stable than the Neutron you have. The best comparison for the MD1 is the Mako3.
@deserttrekmedia Жыл бұрын
Yeah that makes sense. I agree! Good to know about the glow hexes!! So do you think that means Simon’s disc will be more stable than neutron plastic?
@toddkauk6099 Жыл бұрын
@@deserttrekmedia That is a general rule for Eclispe plastic. I have not thrown this new Hex personally, so I can’t say 100%.

I think with proper mechanics this is how the Hex flies. Simon's Hex is a bit more overstable than the typical run but not too much. I may end up bagging the Hex over the Emac Truth because they fly very similar and the Hex quite frankly feels better in the hand. Almost as comfy as the MindBender which I also bag and use for those super straight and soft turnover shots. MindBender feels slower than a Buzzz, Hex, Truth as well
@deserttrekmedia Жыл бұрын
That makes sense. And yes, the mind bender just feels really really nice in the hand, but so did the hex!! I can see why Simon likes it.

The only thing I can really think is for Simon's arm speed, the Hex acts like a farther flying MD1, because the Hex is more stable, and thus can handle more power and torque. Simon's signature Hex is in Eclipse (Glow) which will make it significantly more stable. It'll probably be closer to a 5 / 5 / 0 / 2. A thing about gyro, is if you don't throw with enough spin, the disc acts more stable. IMO, you need to throw Gyro with more spin than a regular disc of the same speed. I bag a Hex and when I try to barely throw it, it's very stable, but when I rip on it it flips up and gets slight turn.
@doggyd.floofy7445 Жыл бұрын
The eclipse plastic doesn’t impact the stability of midranges and putters as much as the drivers. 5-5-(-.5)-1 is probably what i would give the eclipse hex. Just slightly more overstable than a neutron hex if not the same. Little more torque resistant and forehand friendly.
@deserttrekmedia Жыл бұрын
Mmmm. That super helpful to know now. And that makes sense for someone like Simon who can just mash those things. Thanks for letting me know. That’ll help with other videos that have similar discs.
