i think the zones we get teleported into will be closer to the idea of strongholds, maybe even smaller versions of raids rather than just holdouts. If its just holdouts then this gamemode won't be good. I don't wanna do holdouts as 'story' missions

Im really looking forward to this, mixing dmz and outbreak fixes alot of my issues with outbreak. Since the economy system from dmz is coming to the game it fixes having to scrounge for points, now I can loot and sell for more. Instead needing to do an objective to progress, We now don't have to and can select what to do if we want to do one. We can have full hordes and zombies finding us rather than looking for zombies. Plus it lets the story progress over time, I prefer round based zombies but they are a single moment in time during the story.

Im kinda excited for this! While I dont like the time limit, I understand that is is MW, Not Black Ops so they need something to make it different from the other zombie experiences. I LOVE DMZ, BUT I HATE HAVING TO FIGHT OTHER PEOPLE. Sometimes I just go in and try and do as many contracts as possible and exfil while trying to avoid other players. Taking zombies and putting that objective of completing tasks and getting items so the next run can be bettter is awesome! Kinda bummed about a solo experience being heavily discourage, knowing most of the enemies are balanced towards a group. But in my mind, you can go in with a group to get set up and then go solo after so you can have alot of zombies to yourself for the camo grind! Can't wait to get my hands on this!

Me personally I always love when zombies tries new things. I remember when coldwar came out with fun new mechanics I was addicted to it and when outbreak came out it was completely different from what we been getting for 10+ years and vangaurd I was excited for but let down cause it wasn’t as unique as outbreak. MWZ seems like real fun because it is untouched territory. I will always appreciate what treyarch makes for zombies even if it isnt to my liking. I love round based as much as the next, but I believe these new approaches treyarch are making are for the better. I don’t want to say I think MWZ will be the best or worst thing ever but from the looks of it its going to be different and I’m all for it.

Im honestly okay with the solo "experience" being really hard if the game is catered to up to 6-man teams. Lets be honest, the most vocal people about the lack of a solo experience are probably zombies veterans who are much better than the average player. We can handle a hardcore experience. If you build up some decent loot to take with you into the match I think playing really aggressive and making a beeline for the harder zones will be very rewarding.

Needs endless mode with escalating difficulty. Turn chopper into a mechaic that changes the zone you are in. Make it so there are safe zones surrounded by fog that you use the helicopter to get to. Turn the worm into a near unkillable boss thats a constant threat that forces you to move locations.

I am so disappointed that they literally just took the half baked outbreak from cold war, the half baked dmz mode from mw2 and slapped them together. I was excited for outbreak cause I assumed it be big open map where mass hordes would chase aggressively… not just objective simulator that you have no real threat until you go to specific locations. I was hoping dmz would be like casual tarkov, instead it was npc hideout simulator that just happens to have other enemy players, and also the most lackluster extraction shooter inventory system that just made the entire point of an extraction mode pointless. Now this mode is just gonna be more of those 2… They may as well just tried to refine 1 or the other but ig just reusing assets from both is a days work.

The mode was early in schedule so it came with mw3 and that tells me that this ain't no "extra" content just like der anfang (vanguard) was so im a bit scared by that. This was their vision for this mode, this isn't the same story as vanguard and idk how to feel for the future of the games.

I’m cautiously excited. I loved Outbreak and some of the stuff of DMZ. I do hope the solo balance is looked into tho I do appreciate the challenge. What I really like is that sandbox element of leading a horde into a stronghold to kinda do the work for you. I hope they lean into more of the dynamics and freedom like that. Honestly I’m looking forward to it. I have some worries, but I’m taking this mode at face value. Treyarch announced back in September that zombies this year would be in the Modern Warfare universe/lore and the game mode would be an open world extraction shooter, DMZ + Outbreak. That’s exactly what I saw in the trailer and what I want to try out. Round based is coming next year and they’ve confirmed that to the YT’ers at COD Next so why not try something fun and have a good time. Having fun is what’s most important.

So you would need evidence in order to create a correlation with your statement. Which you have not demonstrated still. Stating that Treyarch "cares" more about COD 2024 or Zombies 2024 is an unquantifiable corollary that relies entirely on assumptions based on personal feelings of a situation. There was also a claim that Treyarch won't update the mode when there is more evidence in favor that they will based on leaks and rumors from other content creators. Now you can choose whether or not to believe those leaks and rumors but there are no leaks or rumors to the contrary to firm up your position. And while you can't prove a negative, I wouldn't ask you to because that is an impossible task and unfair during argumentation. As far as the justifying anger towards the devs in terms of Vanguard, I believe it is understandable as a consumer to disregard all of the behind the scenes issues that caused them to push out a lackluster product - but the conditions in which the product was released is important to be able to determine if it will happen with the next product (i.e., MWZ) as well as being able to point your frustrations in the right direction to prevent it from happening again. It is a logical fallacy to ignore how Treyarch was under the gun and using their lower level devs to create Vanguard but at the same time using behind the scenes development woes to assume that they hate MWZ and are going to focus on COD 2024. I am not providing false hope to anyone, I simply have a fundamental understanding of how evidence, logical concepts, and argument/thesis formations work so I can create certain correlations based off of previous causations; but I would never presume them to be correct, only infer that they might. Which is exactly what I did at the end of the video when I explained what happened from BO4/2019 up through today. I also laid out a line of questioning predicated on Activision's old models of releasing DLC in a comparative manner to how they release new DLC from MW19 through MWII. I did not imply MWZ would be good or bad based off of my feelings, nor did I "subvert expectations" by manipulating reality. I created arguments based off evidence I have in front of me and demonstrated it in a 25 minute video. You are welcome to discredit everything I have said, but unfortunately you can't because I have the facts on my side. If you would like to use the same facts and assert your own interpretation of said information that is perfectly viable and I am open to you refuting my position - but I don't think it's possible.

I must not have explained that clearly - thats my fault. It's not a cool down to use wonder weapons in the map. Its a cool down to start the match and load in with them at the very beginning. This is an extraction shooter, so if you play your first game and find a ray gun and exfil with the ray gun you will have the ray gun in your next match. The acquisition system is a reward system that is "perma" upgrade that will let you bring the ray gun into your match everytime unless you die, then it will be on a cool down.

The system should be identical to Cold War zombies system where the wall weapon tiers rank up as you are playing, and you can load in the map with your customized weapon. But the way DMZ works is a little different, so you're not always going to load in with a good weapon. If you die a lot, you'll load in with bad stuff bc you have to exfil out of the map with loot to reuse in your next game.

They say that the weapon system from MW2 fully transfers over to MW3 so I think its safe to assume that leveled up weapons would transfer over. But if they aren't leveled up then you can level them up via MW3 and grind out MWZ's particular camo system. But I am not 100% clear on it yet.

Kind of. It's a little different bc in DMZ your load outs are limited use more or less. Unless they change it, the answer is its a mix of old and new.

It is. I will try to break it down. Activision owns Call of Duty and has three developers who make the games, Infinity Ward, Treyarch, and Sledgehammer. Each developer has their own sub-franchise within the COD framework. Infinity Ward makes Modern Warfare (also Infinite Warfare) Sledgehammer has made Advanced Warfare, WW2, and Vanguard (now MW3) Treyarch makes the Black Ops series (and WaW) Call of Duty is the umbrella that oversees all of the sub-franchises. And now Activision wants to unify all the games under one engine so they will look similar and likely feel similar moving forward. Even the universes are crossing over into one another. But every year a game comes out, while it will be made by all the developers, there will always be one LEAD developer. For MW2 it was Infinity Ward, this year for MW3 it is Sledgehammer, and in 2024 for Black Ops Gulf War (name pending) it will be Treyarch.

Wasn't Bo4 killed off so early because it too allowed players to boot up and immediately be as powerful at the start as they would be at the end with the Wonder Weapon Cooldowns? Earning is one thing. What happens when people begin to hoard Wonder Weapons? Will i have to go onto the MWZ Black Market on G2A to pay someone 5$ to slip me a RayGun mk2? I dont like the sounds of this. This sounds like all the worst parts of Fallout 76. With all the Fuckery of Warzone.

I don't know if they've had 4 "uninterrupted" years to work on COD 2024. In 2021 they had to make vanguard zombies, in 2022 they had to make the ranked mode for MWII and in 2023 they've had to make MWZ, I know that not all these are as draining as a amin game but they're still very disruptive. And that's before considering how resource intensive warzone has become to the point that normal 6v6 multiplayer has also suffered.

I was specifically referring to the lead zombies team as Kevin Drew and the lead zombies dev's didn't work on Vanguard. But yes, all the devs help each other out on the games for sure that is true. But I was just talking about Kevin Drew and his merryband of Richtofens that help him make the main Zombies mode.

Lmao the zombies community has been asking for an experience like this for ages and it’s been ramping up to this idea since transit. Bigger maps and more objectives but we are so quick to shit all over it for no reason. Sledgehammer wants to do something different and treyarch failed at their last attempt at zombies in vanguard. Treyarch will recieve the proper time to execute this time and meanwhile we are getting a unique zombies experience which y’all have been asking for I’m dumb founded💀 I want a new round based like everyone else Dave is gone so who knows if it’ll even be good plus Cold War still exists with modded maps even too now

What's dumb is that they didn't bring back Ordas from Cold war. Those guys are perfect for zombies and just have them next to the giant abominations as well so you have 2 bosses instead of 1 boss fight

I wouldn’t be surprised if they do like a Building 21 from DMZ where it’s a really small and condensed map that also has PvP with the zombies on it to really push players to the edge of madness.

Yea ive always loved zombies co- op and its arguably better than solo but the fact means it isnt made for solo lost me completely, i dont like playing with randos lets alone fucking 24 people!? This is zombies but no solo is fucked id be interested if there was a new round based map at launch just for this to fail and them make round based so people like me means they have no idea what they're doing and i thoght that was clear after vanguard also zombies is not gonna be gobble gum or elixir pay to win its going to be self revives and other of the stupid fucking dmz bundles this game is a laughing stock for me but i really do hope im proved wrong cause i want to love zombies again.

I know man - it is a little weird, but this is a completely different mode. It is hard to look at this mode through an accurate lens since we haven't played it and I think we are all judging it based on a traditional round based lens. if you haven't played DMZ I recommend trying it out so you can get a feel as to how MWZ will work because it will be very similar.
