We had a discussion on this subject earlier today. I believe the official reason for recall was failure of the air vain governor causing the saw to over rev. There was also discussion over how hot they got as well. If the governor failed, it is possible the engine could "run away". Never put a tach to a bp but its under 14K just by ear....best guess.
