I have a MS361 but the decompression button isn't there, instead there is a fixed bolt in its place. Factory moulded hole is present in the orange plastic cover. Is this how some of them came or could it be a case of a major component having being replaced prior to my ownership?

I just got one of these. When I reversed the chain to do the other side the wheel is still spinning the same way so got stuck and the grinding wheel shattered. How do you sharpen the other side of the chain without reversing the rotation?

what a *RARE BEAST!* .. ya lucky dude .. also maybe the best sounding idle ever .. can be seen on an old vid over at WCMS channel as an even *MORE* rare version: the west coast *factory build* of the 166 idling as low as can be, with a proprietary cone air filter & a special factory molded intake cover designed to have this filter from DS

Stihl 028av saw. When I tried cranking, it wanted to kick? I kept trying to crank it. Got it running? But will not reach fast rpm. I adjusted the needles to the best flow but still far from achieving max rpm. I did have my Walbro carb out and replaced gaskets, diaphram. I believe I felt it all was correct. My level ajust for fuel metering looks correct. So I no idea the problem. Just wondering of these saws can jump timing.

The short answer is yes they can. I’ve seen them bend/shear off crankshaft keyways that indexes the flywheel, it’s actually quite common. I’ve seen it on many different small engines, particularly in my work as a marine mechanic on small boat engines ( outboards) that have a key way indexing the flywheel to the crankshaft. You may have other more common issues going on with it, bad fuel, fouling plug, bad fuel lines ect. You need to check fuel lines are okay first because that’s like the most common problem with chainsaws.

Fuel lines get soft and collapse as they get older, not allowing the saw to get enough fuel.

I'm in an area the dealers really only sell Stil. TSC sells Huscvarna. I found a Dolmar 115i in the trash a couple years back to a tank of fresh fuel, but missing it's spark plug. I'm guessing some guy wanted a new saw, so removed the sparkplug to prove to the wife it was dead. I put a spark plug into it, and it started on the tank of fuel I found it with. I've got a Homelight 5-20 out in the garage, which hasn't seen regular use since the 1970's; but it was running in the early 2k's when I got it when my grandparents moved. From what I'm told it had issues when parked, and still had therm when I got it running, as it'd stall under a slight load. As it's a gear drive saw, with no clutch; I haven't spent much time into getting it running right as gear drive is scary, as there is no clutch to absorb any overload so binding and kicking are normal.

Love my 500P and I'm about to get it ported by a reputable builder. Do you have any suggestions on how he should do it? What worked on yours? Did you raise the compression? Interestingly, my muffler was completely empty from the factory. No baffles or cat, just spark screen and deflector.

I want to but such a carb on a i0cc motorcycle for fun. Because nobody in my country has done it. The bike is already tuned and it performs well. Im looking for a big size, maybe 24mm of this carb. Any suggestions on the serial and brands that i can look for? Thanx

Can you tell me how to wire the ignition coil? There are six wires coming from the flywheel area, two yellow and four black. I don't have the original coil. It came with a motorcycle coil that has one set of input connections, + and -, and two spark plug leads. If I need a coil with separate inputs for each cylinder I can get one.

You tuned it? I thought it was an autotune saw, I guess not. This saw is not really for bucking, it's a limbing saw. I buck with my 592xp in a fraction of the time it takes with this saw. I always bring at least two saws out with me.

I know this will be hard to answer on here.. but I run a sawmill and live in a rural area in Southern Illinois where there are no Husqvarna dealers anywhere near me. I have a 562xp that I use as my multi-purpose saw, and a 550xp/mk2 for my limber. The 550 is only 2 years old, maybe 30 tanks through it, still looks new. It started running strange out of nowhere.. hesitating off idle when I blip the throttle. It got worse, then got to the point where it wouldn't idle. Then restarting it was hard.. had to hold the throttle wide open to get it to start. Winds out great, runs great on top end, but dies if you let off throttle. I tore the saw down, I see nothing wrong. Everything looks good. Has the walboro "16" carb if that means anything. I don't know what to do. I took the little brass plug off of that little screw and backed it out 1/4 turn. But I haven't put the saw back together yet. I am wondering if I should just order a new carb, install my old autotune module on the new carb, and reassemble? What say you? Thanks for your time! (Oh and I tried the autotune field reset, no good.. and I have only ran amsoil full synthetic at 50:1, and non-ethanol fuel). Right now I have a 650.00 paperweight!

They sure haven't dropped in price that's for sure. I paid 379 at Home Depot for one today, $400 out the door. Seems like 3 yrs after your video you could get them cheaper. Oh yeah price inflation. Lol Cool video, subscribed, I'll definitely have to do a muffler mod on this thing.

On the Echo cs-4910, if you remove the inner guide plate is there any small part that’s behind it? I took mine apart to clean it and now the oil runs out like crazy. I’m wondering if there was a part behind that guide plate in the area where the oil comes out that I lost so never got put back.

I just saw this video as I am looking to solve a problem with a 555 with EL44 and original coil. Just completely rebuilt the saw with new gaskets, crank bearings and seals, new ring, fuel lines, carb rebuilt, firmware update at husky dealer, muffler mod, not ported, new air and fuel filter…vacuum and pressure test passed…I have the bog but only above 8k rpm… thoughts? Sounds like fuel starvation…Thank you
