This is the Lars I really wanted. Tekken 7 Lars will really test your creativity and tactics. Hard and risky so his difficulty level should be high. Im a Lars Loyalist up until now. Im a kind of guy who loves combos and juggling my opponents, set them flying and take them to the wall. And I guess thats the reason Im not dropping Lars.

The thing with new Lars is that it felt like they wanted to emphasize his stance gameplay, seen by how Dynamic Entry (DE) and Silent Entry (SE) alongside moves from them has seen buffs after buffs. Problem is, he has manual access to DE only (you can do SE from DE but it still a nuisance), which hampers that kind of playstyle. Not to mention that SE has better launchers from it like SE D/F1, SE 3 and SE 4 and Rage Drive 1. The old Lars was powerful simply because he has better tools all across the board, instead of ones that are locked behind his stances. (attacks from DE and SE also had weaker hitbox, B3 was practically useless for combos)

They locked his best moves behind stance (just jab) and FC (lol, enjoy those extra frames), without giving him any way for people to respect those modes. Now all you hear is "he's a defensive character", he was never a defensive character, what really happened is they thought is this guy really a Mishima? So they put his skill mastery ceiling in learning fundamentals but tbh they did a poor job. Hopefully he gets better treatment in Tekken 8 but hes not terrible, he's just a balanced character in a game full of OP bullshit

@@Terszel Agreed. And even if they wanted to bring Season 4 Lars, at least have him get some buffs. My wishlist will be: 1. His 1+2 is back (Rage Arts should be put on u/f 1+2). 2. Lars d/b 1 has a mid variation alongside the high 3, something like d/b 1,1 or 1,2 that is safe on block with +2 on hit. 3. His orbital got fixed and has faster frames. 4. Remove his d/f 4 and give the notation to Silent Entry. 5. Return back the original damage of f/b 2,1. 6. Return Mjollnir (old DE 1+2) with a different notation, something like DE d/f 1+2.

@@NormalHatter I share ur views on some changes that Lars need for future games but god ur wishlist is so dumb 😂 1. His old 1+2 looked kinda nice but it was basically useless, yes its cancellable still pretty useless. Maybe they can give it some new properties like 2nd hit CH launches and first is homing maybe, but worse frames on block. 2. Tf u mean safe mid extension for a low? Doesnt that mean a safe low? 😂 3. Agreed with orbital, should be a bit faster, almost everyone can react to that shit so slow but good range. 4. His df4 is a decent keep out, it should stay maybe make it a tad faster. He shouldnt have free entry to SEN cos thats his best stance due to the 50 50. Insane mids, highs and lows all very good rewarda for the risk. 5. Mjolnir was a godlike move back in the dah as it also bounded from miles away. Now that he's got a lot of other moves and options frm DEN, he dont need it and I would say I shouldnt too. Back in the days he only had DEN 1, DEN 2 and DEN1+2 so it made sense. Now he has DEN 1, DEN 2, DEN 1+2, DEN 3, DEN 4, and DEN 3+4 in rage. Having mjolnir back would give him a free mixup btw launching mid and hellsweep. Imo he is pretty balanced but its the rest if the cast thats op with bs making him low tier. Just give him a better standing CH move, decent low and maybe a parry, sabaki or something of that sort.

Lars was ridiculously strong in T6BR. - Above average combo damage. - Great punish game. - Great wall damage. - Great pokes. - Risk/reward game worked in his favor. - b+1 arguably the greatest homing move in the game and came out at like i15f and was a safe mid.

I know I am commenting late, but this version of Lars is my favourite version, his combos especially wall combos felt satisfying to pull off due to how sick fb21 looked as a move (14f launch punisher as well) and his pokes were really good alongside his panic moves in Orbital and Uf3 which in rage meant that you were dead. The best Lars player from T6 was a Korean player named Holman who beat Knee's Bryan and Nin's Steve (twice) to win Super NCR 2010, his understanding of Lars was great. Tekken 8 Lars is better than his T7 versions but still nowhere close to his glory days. I miss annihilating people online on Xbox Live with Lars (with his 1P outfit)

What probably made bad now in Tekken 7 was that his CH DF+2 was put as a full crouch move

That's one of it. His neutral is sluggish now, lows are super risky compared to before, U/F 3 has less crushing properties, his orbital is super clunky now (it's so bad to the point that it sometimes whiffs on point blank range) and has worse frame. There is also the fact that most of his good moves came out of stances, but he only has manual access to Dynamic Entry only (F+3), whereas Silent Entry has no manual button (DE to SE doesn't count cause that is super whack, why would i want to do 2 stances just for SE?)

@@NormalHatter bcos SEN is super good. Its his mixup stance. The mid and low options and power crush alk have great properties for what they r. I mean he has a fast unseeable high damage low thats very plus on hit and launches on CH only like -12 on block how good is that? If u can access these stuff from nietral with one button it would make it broken. Thats why its hard to enter the stance. U can enter SEN in the open no problem, just gotta condition the opponent to not inturrupt u with DEN 2 then enter SEN when he respects u. U can also enter from db2 or b3 from range even on whiff and then catch them with SEN 4 armor. Ita not that bad honestly.

Yes lars have very great tools, the damage of the travell combo is so good, he is so fast Compared to the other characters do so many things and lars have the wall combo damage Which was so disgusting, it was look like the wall combo of bob in tekken 6.0 Maybe even more worse than lars, but for sure in tekken 6 lars have the best wall combo damage in the game 100%

Lars wasn't that good in Tekken 7, his standing poke damage sucks and his CH tools are locked behind stances. It's either his 10f strings on 1's or 2's, his or punishable lows that only beats players who have no idea how to counter Lars, most of his standing mids sucks except his d/f+1, d/b+2,1, b1, ss2, and b1+2, and his stances aren't that very evasive. If only his Kenpo Stance existed on Tekken 7, he would be a great stance presure charcter close to Miguel and an easy combo character next to Katarina
