It’s because it’s Pure Sine Wave Power. Meaning clean power not raw power that a conventional generator produces . you can power LED TVs , even a microwave! Regular Gennys can’t make that unless you get an inverter generator which does the same thing as this but look at the price difference of those Generators
@connors.10773 жыл бұрын
@@tannermartin7263 To the best of my knowledge, the alternator on a "conventional" generator (or at least what I think you mean by that) does produce a "pure sine wave", in that it's not filtered from a pulse width modulated DC voltage like many cheap DC-->AC inverters*. On the other hand, it won't necessarily be frequency stable, or voltage stable. To be frequency stable, the engine would have to hold either 3600 RPM or 1800 RPM, depending on how many poles the alternator has. I don't think an alternator without correction can be voltage stable at constant RPM; please correct me if I'm wrong. An inverter marketed as "pure sine wave" will probably also yield a sine wave that's not mathematically pure, but unlike simple alternators, inverter microprocessors can sense load changes and correct phase shifts and voltage drops, assuming enough DC power is available at the input. This doesn't mean that every product _does_, just that the technology we have makes it possible. *I imagine you could even have a worse waveform from a cheaply made inverter generator than from a regular generator if a bad circuit topology is chosen for the inverter.
@Veritas-invenitur3 жыл бұрын
@@connors.1077 Some of the higher end inverter pure sign wave Gen sets produce a better sine wave than you will get from the wall. Those generators in question have power factor correction. “Pure sine”, there is one reason why it is more expensive. Many of the DC inverters have a modified site wave, and are cheaper. This will not harm electronics. On the “feature”, a hack is to connect an electrical timer that would turn on every 50 minutes for about 2 minutes that would turn on something more than 80 watts. I found this information on another channel. So, does this mean it is definitely meant for a contractor site, and not the home user? Ego does have a solar powered attachment they have just announced for their Battery Powered Generator, and they don’t auto power off with lower power draw devices are connected for an hour. Based on the comparison between Ego, Dewalt, and Milwaukee, I would probably go with the Ego.

It would be better from an efficiency standpoint to have the multivolt charger built in to the thing. Changing the battery voltage to 120v ac just to have the multivolt charger step it backdown to 18 or 12v dc is less efficient than simply stepping the big pack battery voltage down to 18 or 12.
@generation-x4063 жыл бұрын
I feel the solar charging would be a waste due to solar panels having a low efficiency rate of conversion and well... Needs sun.. 12v charging from the plug in the truck/car would be more practical since it could charge while in transit or idling and short durations of the vehicle off as well. I would be curious if a charged car/truck battery that wouldn't be assisted by the alternator could charge the MXFuel and have enough to still fire up the vehicle, but an automatic low vehicle battery shunt integrated into the MXFuel would be more practical.

Those complaining about price fail to see $1200 is batteries. If you want more run time and can't do solar just buy an additional battery and recharge it elsewhere. As far as the whining about the low power cut off Why on Earth would you be using us to charge phones or a small laptop? just buy a damn USB C charging pack like the ancor 20ah again people this isn't that complicated! Why do you want to make the product more expensive by asking Milwaukee to integrate more circuitry plugs in cost if asked to have a solar charger option directly when the majority of contractors are going to use these indoors where solar is pointless... Just what I want a bunch of glass solar panels on a job site to be stolen 🙄

Vince nice vid that is bad ass. Just use it as it intended and it serve multiple uses. Thank you. VINCE can you use your influence with Milwaukee to make a cordless pressure washer on the 18 volt platform. Others on the market, but I have Milwaukee and like to see them in the game and yes I will buy one. Thanks again Vince. Cris

So with pass threw time sbd there is only two outlets and it has less power andlimited run and wastage i honestly will stick with my Honda generator it cost like $7 CDN to fill it's only worth about $500cdn its 4500w the gas last a hoke day on the job site it also has a 2x120v, 1x180v, & 1x240v that mx fuel is worth $3k CDN so do the math by the time I have used abd or so much has in my generator that I get more power that I need any major maintenance I would have bought the MX Fuel and no worries about neck to the shop to unlock and plug that in to charge this does nit seem like a helpful and useful item fir my home orjob site but might help at a camp site with no noise camping other then that i see no use My generator weighs about 40kg less 100lbs and that fuel of gas Sorry with the delay i that millwaukiee system abd its cost and limited cute abd run time sorry I will pass specially cause so many work trucks have power inverters so many tools are cordless and most job sites i go to have power at them or someone else us running a Generator Sorry this is a millwaukiee fail plus my generator runs all too nothing g it won't run

hello, what is the capacity of the battery please? how long will the Milwaukee MXF002-2XC last if the device consumes 500 watts

I'm I'll a DYIer I'll wait for Gen 2 if at all, i like this in concept but they need to include pass-through charging, charge batteries all at once, solar option and maybe a cigarette charger option. Other features would to make every side of this unit into a super multi voltage charger ontop of outlets

ok ok I know i’m late to the party. $2200 it’s doable, but at that Price I can get a Honda generator or the HarborFreight special (with two Golf Court batteries and a inverter, it’s heavy) it works.

Two things: 1) The fact it can't receive solar makes it feel like half a product. It's not fully baked yet. 2) I don't understand why I can't plug M18s or M12s into it and not only charge them too but USE them too as part of the bank. I want all my batteries to be one big battery on demand. Why isn't that a thing?

I feel like the microwave acting funny, maybe the power supply itself has some type of tech that automatically adjusts the power output. Maybe it was just struggling to find the right power output to set itself to

I don't see the limited power availability lasting 2 or more guys more then 3-4 hours plus it's limited power output and no solar charger so I think other then camping i will stick to the o a small gas generator for a fraction of the cost i liked to know what condition those batteries are in after a 1000 hours if use cause after paying for my generator and fuel to get to the price of that thing i be at at least a 1000 hours and that's only a oil change no engine issues plus my generator is very quiet so at the cost o think this might work for the space program but not for my or our (husband and I) company job sites or home the cost and bad reviews if milwaukee batteries over time is not justified maybe with a solar charger and pass threw power and slightly lowered price it could be reconsidered thanks for the HONEST REVIEW if what now more then ever seems like a useless piece of over priced equipment

I was until the 80 watts turn off. Why didn’t they make it if nothing is running load then it shut down after 20 min. If you have a load then you must be using it I keep with my dewalt inverter the pure Ac sin wave surge power strip conditioner. And when a battery dies I have tons extra batteries I can pop into the unit to keep it going.. when I change electrical panel my dewalt inverter keeps lights on all day keeps the room bright so I don’t need a flashlight. Some times while I’m changing the panel I plug there sub pump to keep the basement from flooding while I’m changing out the panel. There times where customers need power for c path machine. Even after I power down panel the customer yelled they were in there power recliner and stuck in the seat dewalt power inverter just plug in got them out of there power recliner. I like the idea of Milwaukee generator inverter but looks to big bulky. And charge it takes 3 hours turn me off. Maybe if they came out with one that changed the Milwaukee battery out when it dies for M 18 I have ton of battery and Milwaukee tools to Never used just 1 brand used all of them because some companies make some tools better then others. I used all brands if I like it make my job easier I buy it.

Myself as a fabricator and mechanic this would be useful at salvage yards if you really need power and battery tools won’t cut it. Although myself I have been good even cutting cars in half for quarters with Milwaukee battery’s.

I’m in Houston Tx freeze of 2021 there’s need to be something that could work indoors to help us stay warm ? I thought about that Milwaukee generator. But seeing this I’ll pass and buy a gas generator
@donniemiller.16033 жыл бұрын
Don't think solar is going to happen , they could do it but it would have to come with a solar panel setup that folds out probably about 9 foot wide and 4 door high , it would have to have a solar charge controller and maybe a DC to DC inverter built in and that would run piece up to around $4000 to $5000 , Idk I could be wrong . lol

I love Milwaukee but I guess I’m less impressed with this one. Gotta say I can understand not having a pass through, you dont need a pass through if you already have power close by

I bet a refrigerator and a TV makes that thing say uncle. I've got a bunch of M18 gardening tools such as the chainsaw and weed wacker etc.. they are great but they only come out for the light duty jobs cause that's all they can handle. Gas is still king and its not even close.
@shadowmedic7773 жыл бұрын
Would seriously consider but makes no sense that it won’t pass through power while charging, shuts off after an hour so I can’t charge my small devices, annnnd I really need to be able to solar charge this thing! Silly

Hey VCG can you get on the horn with ryobi and tell them to make a 1500w 15a power supply? With all the free battery tool deals they had over the years people have tons of their batteries lying around and these would sell like hot cakes.
@HotForgeChaos3 жыл бұрын
Solar technology is not yet at the point where it can supply electricity to quickly charge batteries of this size with a compact panel size. You would get probably 10w @ 12v tops with a small photovoltaic panel

It is reported that Milwaukee changed the design and newer production eliminated the timeout feature because of complaints from customers. Add the solar charge option. Going to buy one for use where I can’t use gas engine

If it's going to cost over 2 grand there is absolutely no reason why milwaukee couldn't add a hookup to add solar panels...
@johnedwards26963 жыл бұрын
Can't see much point in returning to corded tools thru' an inverter pack. Sure, there are instances but Milwaukee have most areas covered with M18.
