Love this! How do you register the car at the end of it? As an mx5 or a Morris minor? Or a kit with a new registration?

I will be keeping it on the Morris Minor registration.

If you don't notify the DVLA, you commit an offence. It should have a new registration.@@passthegrinder

Nice project, I am currently doing an mx5 swap into a mk4 escort cabriolet but I am having to add 13.5 cm onto the wheel base.. good luck

A project i'v toyed with..... 2 questions..... was the wheelbase close enough, and do you plan on IVA ing the finished car...?

The wheelbase is about 3 inches shorter on the Minor. I plan to move the front wheels forward ( the shell backwards) gives a better seating position which is close to the B pillar. No plan to IVA.

I always have said how do you make a classic british car reliable put a Japanese engine in it this is on another level you have taken a Mazda MX5 removed its body and are fitting a Morris Minor body to it maybe if they built there cars like this in the 1960s and 70s the British car industry may have survived and Morris would be around today

@@passthegrinder The law’s clear - if you want to use it on the road, and be legal, you’ll need to put it through an IVA and you’ll get a Q for Quality plate.

@@nigeltoon1848 If I was to IVA it I should get an age related plate of the MX5 year? as most of the parts used is still MX5. I really dont want a Q plate even thou this is a quality build! LOL
