@themishapgarage3403And when edit 'em like that, it inspires folks like me to undertake a little piece'o'cake quickie project like this one! Think I'll take an old sofa that's been rotting in my back 40 for seven years now & throw it on top of the grocery cart I stole from my neighborhood Overweighty's back in '84, & rig up a chain drive from my dead Dad's green Lawnboy to them itty bitty back wheels! Not sure if I'll want to leave the wobble in the right front wheel or fix it or not. I think I'll leave it! Gives it character! Now what I am going to do the day AFTER tomorrow? 🤠

Quite a rig. A testament to your ability of custom fab. It’s pretty impressive that you swapped this over so quickly. I like the concept of “slapping” a old body on something “generic” and “common” like a leSabre. Great job!

Awesome build, I have been working on a body swap in the same vein as this for the past month. I’m putting a 54 Chevy pickup on a 2011 Kia soul. Ran into a lot of the same issues with width as you did but I went a different route and split the cab in half and widened it by 14 inches. I’m almost like 90% done and have drove it a few times and it’s awesome to have an old vehicle that drives like a new car really fun project. It’s really cool to see someone else just making off the wall shit just work even if it doesn’t make sense to put a fwd car under an cool oldie to most people

Cool! I reminds me of the 1946 Checker Model D, which had a transverse-mounted 6 cylinder engine in a 1940s body; I believe only 3 were built because Checker saw the design as too eccentric to be easily maintained. So, is it registered as a Plymouth or as a Buick?

It's a 48 Plymouth on the title. They don't need to know about the rest.

He is doing much better. Some of the welds are on the car. Slower me down but still worth it. No instructions to follow so it's a lot of changing directions on the fly.

I love it. It’s cool how you worked around the problems. I’ve been a body man my whole life. I started with lead and you made your patch panels. I clipped a 64 corvair at a vocational school for my project. In 1970. Your car most likely drives great. Good chassis choice. 👍

@ yes I did. I worked at the local Chevy garage at 13 at 14 i bought a 57 Chevy 2 dr htp. It needed work. Always been a gear head. When I was about 20 I bought a 1967 Plymouth GTX 426 with twin 4 barrels 4 speed. What a car to have at a young age.
