You could very well be right, the setup situation is all about personal preference for sure. For me in milestone motocross games I’ve only noticed a difference with the gear ratio.

@@fullthrottlemaxrpm just do whatever works for you man, you can take the fastest dudes setup and it might make you even worse, its all about personal preference. When i would do league races against some of the best dudes on playstation i would run a stock setup and still win races.

You just have to pull both of your joysticks in the opposite direction and that will make you scrub and whip to the left. If you push your joysticks together it will whip and scrub to the right

I would also include to never play my vs atv all out because that will completely mess you up when trying to play this and mes4. You should definitely make a video on shifting. I tried it in mes4 and that was an epic fail, and in this game I find myself staring at what gear in I’m more than paying attention to the track ha

When you chose a team in career, it saves your preset for grand prix racing, thats the gear that they gave me. I'm not sure if it's still the same or not. You can only have it with the rockstar husky team

I can turn and pull tricks fine, my problem is keeping up with the pack from mid race to the end. If I try to go as fast as possible to catch up I just end up crashing, and if I take my time and not risk the crashes I can’t keep up either. Idk if it something with my bike setup, my settings, or that i’m just not skilled enough at the game?

Could be a mix of everything, the most important thing is skill, you wont go any faster in this game if you use a bike setup without having enough skill. Just takes lots of practice man, maybe change the bike up, or the camera. Overall tho practice is key

If i want to wheelie i use both sticks, if i wanna lean back and get traction i use the right stick.

Thank you for posting this video, great tips. I just picked up the game today and I have a question about the starts. When you are on the start line I can not shift the bike from neutral to first like other games. Supercross games I good shift into first on the line and time the gate with the clutch. In MXGP 2020, when do you have to shift to get a good start? I am using manual BTW, thank you.

I dont play the game anymore, but you may just have to shift into first when the gate drops, i cant quite remember.

450 have more power in 3rd and 4th gear, they use 3rd with the rpm very low, and differents maps to let the rpm go high very quickly. So 3rd gear in the turns is better than 2nd. But even this could be personal preference

Ya it’s tricky to get used to, sometimes i use my index finger to shift down so that i don’t have to lift my hand off of the controller. I sometimes hold my hands in the claw position is what its called. I use B to shift up, and X to shift down. Or on Playstation i use circle to shift up and square to shift down.

The second one I don’t find an issue. The last few weeks I’ve been playing a lot of online and I usually get like almost dead last on the starts coz people ram you. (Either that or I holeshot) But I can still come through the pack and get either second or first. Most people online don’t know what they’re doing or are super inconsistent

Good question, i should of explained that in my video aha. I’d recommend shifting down to 1st to hit the berms better, but quickly shift into second to get your momentum going as you exit the berm/corner. Your main gears you need to be in are 2nd and 3rd gear, you can use the whole track with those gears. When you’re going through rollers or on straights you can shift up to 4th to get your speed going, you don’t need to worry about 5th gear very much at all in this game.

As far as i remember, you just had to get enough credits and then you can go and buy them in customization with a preset. If not then maybe you have to win the championship in career

good video but def wrong about the suspension set up, suspension is key especially with how slippery the riding feels in MXGP 2020. It takes 10-15 minutes maybe less to find a good set up for your riding style and it's totally worth it.

I guess i must just be different. Obviously having the stock bike suspension feels bad compared to the factory ones you can buy. I’d have to do some testing again to see if i feel any different about the suspension setup.

@@MBF120 yea dude just like racing in real life, everyone has their own preference for their suspension. Its whatever is comfortable for you. The only big thing i’ve noticed from finding a perfect suspension tune is faster more controlled cornering/ better grip coming out of a corner, less slippery ( milestone fucked that up lol its way to slippery even with a good tune hopefully they fix that soon), better scrubs, more control hitting / landing big jumps and fluidity through whoops.
