MXR DISTORTION +
www.jimdunlop.c...
This little yellow box is responsible for those great distortion sounds heard on so many classic recordings. Set the Distortion control low and crank the Output knob to drive the front end of your amp for cool blues tones, or max out the Distortion knob for classic early '80s hard rock tone. There still isn't any distortion unit on the market that sounds like the Distortion+.
Power: Dunlop ECB003 AC Adapter or Single 9 volt battery
-Germanium-powered, soft-clipped distortion
-Go from warm, tubey overdrive to gnarly fuzz
-Classic early '80s hard rock tone

I have one, it's awesome used as an overdrive, a distortion, a fuzz or even a crunchy boost. I use it only on the clean channel with a Fender-like amp, it's great. So much possibilities for a simple pedal

Yeah, and now nobody can make any money if you buy 100 of them. But why would anyone make music for the billion jackasses out there? The only 1 in the band that people liked was ozzy. I saw 1000 people walk out on zakk wylde, a current player of pedals. Pedals have gone the same way as pyramids. Pedal makers have to slap their contractors. That’s never going to happen. GM slapped Holden. Holden dealers are SORE losers.

I think people have missed the point of THIS pedal in 2017. It's from a design of the 1970's, so the original purpose of the thing has been change over the last few decades. If you want to use an old sonic trick item, then THIS pedal is a great thing! So EXPECT to GET a thing which gives you an HISTORICAL experience, which is what you paid to get!But your experience will be a NEW version and its better than all previous models!Being a Randy Rhoads tone chaser, I've used this pedal and can confirm its a GREAT pedal! It REALLY does have a sonic sound which is hotter in gain levels than randy's original sound, when used with randy's equipment AND its tone is WARM in nature which isn't like the 1990's version of this pedal, AND its got a tone which is just like randy's 1980 sound. It's awesome! Any serious randy rhoads collector MUST have this pedal in the collection! It's making a 2000 era randy rhoads sound like you've NEVER heard before! If you want a RR sound with classic levels of gain and NOT the most gain a 2000 era RR sound can do, then you'll need to buy the script logo distortion + pedal.Cheers!

oh no, people! this pedal has a HUGE range of uses for it! don't underestimate this distortion+ pedal collection! it will replicate the sound of amp distortion, make a clean sound for you, and go all the way to a 2000 era Randy Rhoads sound! and I KNOW you've NEVER heard or even know that version of randy's sound even exists! I have ALL randy's gear and THIS pedal is AMAZING with all randy's gear and settings! :-) I'm BLOWN away by how FULL ON this pedal sounds with randy's signature gear. if you're gonna buy all the RR signature gear, then, this pedal is an AWESOME addition to that collection. there's a few different ways to collect RR issue gear and buying all new product is 1 way and an excellent way to get MASSIVE sound! RR would love this pedal! BUT! this pedal doesn't do the sound of the solo section of the blizzard of Oz band's live show! this pedals tone from randy's settings is the warm sound from the early songs of the OZZY Live show, released on Record store day in ~2015 or there abouts. so, forget about sounding like the 1987 product live show sound. don't forget about the 240/110 tone problems as well! if you LOVE this pedal, then you'll ALSO LOVE the 90's era Randy Rhoads sound too! but to get that RR era sound, you'll need to own the 90's MXR distortion+ pedal! that sound is more gain than randy's original, just like this pedal's more gain sound BUT the 90's era sound has MORE bottom end to randy's sound and so it covers the tone of randy's SOLO feature from the LIVE LP from Record store day. the script pedal version ALSO does Randys sound BUT it's a RETRO sound version and it should be discovered and heard AS WELL! all the notes from this pedal being installed into randy's setup, makes every note retro in style, with less gain than the 90's and 2000's era sound BUT they're notes which are more sweet! and very 1980 style notes. you'll need to buy all the signature gear to hear the different Randy Rhoads sounds and make sure that you DO what MXR tells you to do with the pedal settings. (Max them and learn to hear the different sound versions from the pedals. never 'go searching for the old sound, just do as they tell you and experience the great sounds from playing the material). all these distortion+ pedals will SOON become highly collectable items and very expensive. get em now while you can! dreyn77 says. ;-)

Guitarists always use the wrong amp settings with this pedal it is a DISTORTION PEDAL NOT AN OVERDRIVE you can't expect Marshall type British amp sounds out of it at low volume you have to use an already smoking hot amp that's pushing air and dial in the amount of fuzz or grit with the Dist+ you want afterwards sheesh...

Solid state transistor amps are normally loud clean and reliable, but their own tones are very plain, if you want nice gain/fuzz/distortion through that kind of amp, you need to choose a pedal that sounds like it's got a lot of fuzz/gain/drive on it, this Distortion+ pedal obviously does not sound like that on this video and the guy is playing it through a clean channel with a Strat so that you can hear the plain sound of the pedal. If you need a dirtier sound then choose a different pedal. My own opinion is that fuzz and heavy distortion is better for rocking hard and loud. This MXR pedal seems like it kinda sucks.

Your opinion is not fact, especially when you clearly have not listened to enough of a genre to truly judge it. You lot are all the same. I do not care what genre it is. You listen to a few songs or maybe see some of the trends within and think "Oh, this is exactly how all of it is.
