So yeah, every now and then I get a pedal that is a bit outside my comfort zone, but I like how it sounds and makes me play/write differently-this is one of those. The octave fuzz sounds in the Poly Blue Octave are a no-brainer for me (especially those unhinged analog-style tones on the Mono mode), but tbh I can’t think of a time when I really went all-in on a clean octave sound.
BUT-the challenge was purely my sensibilities and nothing about this pedal. It’s great at what it does, which four (!) octave voices that can be blended independently, some awesome Leslie-style and phaser that can be used on their own as well, and one gnarly fuzz circuit post-octave that recalls the OG Blue Box. So if you’re after a bit of ethereal color, organ-like timbres, or just rowdy, synthy fuzz, it’s all here in a very surprisingly versatile little box. Check it out!
*Big thanks to Dunlop for sending this pedal over*
