Thank you Marko! Guitarists do spend a lot of money on GEAR and PEDALS and your reviews are no-nonsense and straight to the point! Would love to hear you share more about your board and other quality pedals that make a difference. Another gem of a review - Again, Thank You !

Thinking of getting one of these or a DOD 250 50th anniversary, for the low, low price of $249.99, because get it? It's a 250 and costs $250? Eye roll. I'll try to get a discount somewhere.

The product you use to attach the pedals to your board, does the adhesive leave any residue when it comes time to remove it? Doesn't damage the paint, anything else?
@THEVATICANTS18 күн бұрын
It’s an awesome system, but yes, the attachment to the pedal is incredibly sticky and definitely meant to be on there. Once you remove it, it will definitely leave a little residue.

Interesting to note that his YJM Marshall signature amp has a built-in boost, but it mimics his original DOD signature pedal, the DOD 308. His Fender OD was out at the time, I think, but maybe wasn't close enough for Marshall to incorporate it. My point: all his pedals, from the original gray DOD, to any of his (now) three signature pedals, are going to get you in the ballpark of the Malmsteen sound. A boost pedal is definitely needed, but truth be told you can get something very close with other pedals...even the MXR Microamp does it. And Ygwie cares only about who pays him, hence the three different manufacturers.

nothing better than a Marko review, youre a great speaker, any thoughts on the MXR Randy Rhoads distortion they just released?

Do you prefer this or the yellow dod 250? Which one is smoother, easier to shred? 🤔

I think I prefer this one.

You should get a noise gate. I use a 1978 MXR Noise gate / line driver pedal. The only ones who would benefit from that overdrive pedal are those who own a vintage tube head. I wonder if the yngwie pedal is any different than the standard MXR overdrive.I use an Arion SDI-1 Distortion pedal. I love it. I keep the channel volume down on my head and crank the master volume on full. I get a total clean sound with out the pedal and get a rich tone and nice distortion with the Arion pedal on. I keep the distortion on about 8.

Great review and loved the tone. Liked how you point out that it’s NOT a stand alone drive or distortion but something to give you that extra sizzle. Also Not knocking your board but it was a little bit of a surprise to me. For someone who has awesome high end top notch gear I would expect some more “boutique” brand pedals like the BE-OD and not just the tried and true Boss and MXR ones. Any particular reason why?

Thank you. My other boards are in the rehearsal space and in the studio and those are the ones that have mostly boutique stuff on it :-)

Nice chops bro, great video, that MXR box is ok but needs something like a (better) noisegate
@THEVATICANTS3 ай бұрын
Thnx man. Yeah heavy gate needed!!!

I used it with my old TC Gmaj. The most transparent reverbs on the market and the noise gate works flawlessly. Yngwie uses TC FX too and it's because they don not colour the tone in any perceivable way. Completely transparent.

Thanks for such a useful review. Are you using a real attenuator or the JHS Blackbox? Just curious about if you are using power amp saturation, because it sounds glorious.

ust the HJS and the head attenuator in the back set at 75% ;)

Sounds nice, can't go wrong with a Plexi. I bet the winner is, pedal max level, little gain (9 o clock or little less), yjm amp edge of breakup, no noise gate- that would likely be my taste at least. Thanks for the video, enjoyed it. Your picking motion when you are random shredding looks really good, wish mine had that effortlessness to it!

Looking at Reverb prices, yeah, I'd say it was "much worse" than the Fender YJM pedal as well to justify paying 3+ times the price.

One must say that this overdrive was created for the YJM pickups
