I organized all the family photos in your photo folders and stored them in boxes stored on top of a cupboard in my craft room. If I die tomorrow, at least my family will know where all the photos are and they can do whatever they want with them. I scrap the photos I enjoy scraping at the time and do not feel the need to “catch up “. Thanks, Lauren for all your great ideas!😊

Sometimes, Lauren, it helps me to see that even a prolific scrapbooker like you is still going back quite a few years to get caught up. I have 20+ years of photos from my years in the U.S. Air Force Reserve to scrapbook. Sadly, there's only me to look at them, but I still feel the need to organize all that information and get it down in a way that tells my story. Also just found a scrapbook that my mother kept for her years as a member of the Women's Army Corps during WWII. It needs to be re-organized, labeled, stabilized, and finished. Mother is gone, so it would be in her memory. Lots of work. I've done nothing with over 20 years of photos, mostly sitting in digital format, and I struggle with how to approach that, as a widow with no children. Anyone on this thread have a similar situation?

I love the review with improvements. I still have 30 years left to sort. The comment card will be especially helpful. I call relatives and include their quotes to include in journaling.

ASMR? Had to look that one up. Actually I enjoyed the video Lauren did with no talking, from the standpoint of seeing very quickly how a layout came together. But only as a ‘once in awhile’. We need to actually hear you, Lauren!

Do you have any ideas on what to do with those leftover photos? I don't scrap every picture and wonder how to organize those 'extras' Also I am a themed scrapbooker bc I got tired of doing chronological (and for those who are Type 1 about chronology - this idea won't work too well) So my themes are - 1. This is Us (holds all pictures about what dh and I do or go ortake part in. or any family events at OUR house 2. Grammies memories - Pictures of when the grandkids come to MY house. 3. People I love - friends, family, etc and when we go to kids homes for holidays 4. Past memories - these are older pictures of my or my dh childhood or older pictures from family members and two themes I just started "Favorite Pictures and/or Layouts and Dogs - since my kids are all grown and out of the house we take alot of silly pictures of our dogs!! The This is Us album is probably the closest I have to chronological....the other albums I don't worry about it that much.....much less stress . If I'd have started your system way back when - I might have continued it but now I don't worry about it.

QUESTION- I just watched on replay and thoroughly enjoyed your process which is very similar to what I’m already doing. My dilemma is how to know - just by looking through my digital photos on my phone or laptop - which photos I have already printed. Do you automatically print quarterly and keep track that way? If you print at home on the fly, how do you remember six months to a year or more from now that you printed certain photos? I need a system to flag the photos I’ve printed but maybe not yet scrapped. Help!
