Here is recommendation of someone with 20 years on board: Ride your board downhill, start little and bend your knees in the curves, feeeeel the curve and the bend, flex your knees, raise your arms up for balance. Ride fast in difficult terrain, bend your knees and raise arms, go into curves and ride through with speed. This will get you closer to your board and your balance will progress. When learning tricks: Bend your knees and raise your arms up while/before popping. Do not bend your back too much and do not lower your head too much, try staying centered, bending knees will help. Have fun.

The concrete where i live is so fucked and i have hard wheels so i used to always drive 20 minutes away to a place where there was allot of soft concrete, i indeed reccomened what you have said. I eventually bought a little softer wheels (94A and i used tyo have 102A) if i would go streetskating, also with a seperate pair of bearings so i can swap it easy. I still prefer 102A Wheels tho for skateparks, i ke slippery wheels :)

Marianne as someone who went the extra mile to get better at skating. I skated in difficult terrain, crack on roads and having to force Ollie over things while riding the streets. Skating at night in the streets also helped , things are more intense at night time and make you really focus on what you are doing on your board. Always trying to do my tricks while going fast to on my board , Ollie’s, popshuv its, 360 shuv it’s , etc. 180s..and so on. Skating long sessions is the only real way to progress , no short cuts
@ImBlackIvy5 жыл бұрын
Marianne Yup, you notice from those long sessions you gain tremendous amounts of confidence and better balance on your board. You start to feel your board more and become one with it. It doesn’t happen over night but just continue skating as much as possible to the point , streets start to look like skateparks to you riding through your neighborhood lol. Where everything becomes something to skate on or do a quick line of tricks through

Great progress, well done! I'm not an expert but I used to be a decent skateboarder about ten years ago. The advice I would give to you is to really focus on getting your ollie perfect before moving to other tricks. I did what you have done and learned a lot of tricks fast but they really didn't have any form. When I started to skate with better people I essentially realized I had to re-learn everything. The best example in the video is how your heelflip doesn't level out. You need to be making sure you pop right at the end of your tail and really tucking your knees, even tweaking your back foot. Even a little more speed when trying tricks wouldn't be bad. I always found going slower to be more hindering then helping. Hope this helps, keep up the great work :)

Love this video man. I wish I had progression videos to show my rise also. It brings me back to the days of sitting on my gravel road one my 1980's Fat Boy, just practicing my Ollie from sun up to sun down. When I first landed one it was no more then 1/2" off the ground but that was it for me I was hooked. I later got signed by my Local Board shop, "PRO Skate" and started riding for them. I have been teaching kids to ride for awhile now but their motivation gets drained and it's easy to say "I used have a hard time too guys, you'll get it" lol but they look at you like "Whatever dude you been good your whole life" 🙄 ... So I decide to show some videos to them but all you can find is Pro's either killing it and landing the perfect Trick or Bailing so fucking hard that it would make these kids drop their board for good lol... I would like to show them your video. I find it very inspiring and you show great progression. I would like to see more of these types of Videos. Good job man, like I said your killing it now from what I see. That feeling you get when you finally land the trick you have been killing yourself to land, you can't get that feeling from anything else. Thanks for posting! ... Skate Safe Man

Nice video of progression mate, your coming along nicely, ive been on and off the board for over 20 years and can only really say with few points of help. 1. In the first few months to 2-3 years, tighter trucks will be your life saver, you will learn faster without wheel bite. 2. Ride everywhere you go to get that balance and steady feet, even just around the corner to the shop. 3. Don't be afraid to put those feet back on and commit, skateboarding isn't complete without failure and success, in the first couple years you will fail more then you succeed. but in the end your skill will grow and you will get better, just work at your own pace and keep going.

I live in a place where the only skatepark is not suitable for freestyle. It's mainly a half pipe ramp, that's why most skaters ride at the city's main park and people always complain about them so they can only be there for less than an hour before they get in trouble. And the worst of all... I'm not even a skater! XD I've been thinking about getting a board and learn but the thing about not having a place to skate, plus my age (31yo) and my knees (hurt by my many years as a goalkeeper and the last 4 years practicing martial arts) always make me think it twice :,(

Tight Your trucks little bit to make easier to do tricks And land them
@fivehourenergy61595 жыл бұрын
its easier to land tricks with looser trucks because you can lean at of a trick. kind of hard to explain
@BecomeASkater5 жыл бұрын
You're right ! Since the video I tighted trucks a bit.
@blazeeagle11265 жыл бұрын
no because loose trucks will help you land better if you land kinda off centers so your board will go with easier instead of hardly turning when your leaning a ton. \
