Great recommendations! Currently completing my clinical masters and 'Maybe you should talk to Someone' and 'Come as you are' are both in my top 10 as well!

Wow! exactly what I needed. I've been wanting to read essentialism for a while actually.

I didn't finish "Essentialism," but what I read was absolutely helpful and helped me confirm that some decisions I was making at the beginning of this year were for the best.

Good Morning Monster by Catherine Gildiner was my favorite lately!! The book is split by 5 different patients of hers with similar struggles and it was a really beautiful story.

Hello!!! I just wanted to come on here and say that i aspire to be a forensic psychologist in the future, and i’m currently shifting from grade 9-10. You really inspire and help me envision my future in psychology in general 😊 Could you recommend some of the best universities for psychology?

Thank you, great recommendations that I mostly didn’t hear of before and will definitely check out!😊 have you, by any chance, read „the body keeps the score“? I’ve started reading it and I am not sure how scientifically correct it is.
@thepsychdiaries7 ай бұрын
No I haven't- we discussed it in supervision one time when I asked the same question and I was told there's mixed scientific evidence behind it but some people find it very valuable so it's still on my list :)

The psychology of totalitarianism by Mattias Desmet is a really good book. It's not a long book either.

Thank you so much for these recommendations, just making comment about if you can post the name of the book on the corner of the screen so I can make some notes that will be awesome. I’ve just read Hidden Valley Road to help me get a better understanding of how it has developed through, I love your recommendations. Thank you so much😊

Hi Ro, can you please recommend me books on overthinking because I tend to be in my mind for a lot of time
@thepsychdiaries5 ай бұрын
I love The Happiness Trap (Russ Harris)- really validating about how our brains are almost wired to be overthinking and some practical strategies on how to refocus our attention on the things that are more valuable to us :)

Hi Ro, how do find the time to read books on a busy/full time schedule? esp if your a person doing their masters and have so many things to learn. Right now I am trying to create a foundation of knowledge by listening to podcasts on the topic to make reading easier.
@thepsychdiaries7 ай бұрын
I usually have a set reading before bed and during my commute. But actually when masters or work ever feels really busy I don't read any psych science books and focus purely on fiction just to give my brain a break- it's doing so much learning already!
