Thank you for some ACTUALLY unpopular opinions! I wish I liked purling as much as you do! And I agree with you that it’s worth knitting in any direction to get the result I want.

From what I understand, continental (left hand picking) is faster than English (right hand throwing) but what I've heard referred to as Irish Cottage knitting, (right hand picking) is the fastest, most ergonomic way to knit. It's also the most common way they knit in Shetland, where knitted items was a low-paying, high demand industry so people had to knit very quickly and constantly to produce enough items to get paid. As for people suggesting one sell one's knitted items, I've been known to quote a fair price (the sock yarn was £20 and the fastest I ever knit a pair of socks was in a weekend of near-constant knitting, so let's say 12 hours, at £10/hour which is frankly an insult to my skills, that's £150. For a pair of socks.) and for acquaintances I tell them that "knitting is like sex: if I love you, it's free and if not then I'm not interested."

I do not like knitting garments in pieces, because one cannot fit the garments. I am also an English style knitter. I knit my sleeve and socks two at a time. Thanks for sharing.

Good video. I only knit with hand dyed yarn with one skein yarn projects. Other than that I use commercial yarn. All I have to worry about is dye lots. I love your designs. I plan to knit a few of your tops in the coming months.

I really wanna learn how to flick but I just can't figure out how to get my tension right with my right hand

I'm struggling with knitting stockinette around and around on a project right now. Flicking is my favorite way to knit. 🧶 I prefer to buy yarn only if I have a project planned for it as well. I've made one of these types of videos, and yes, they are fun to make. 😄
