My £1000 Chrysler Crossfire Failed It's MOT - BADLY 🥲

In today's video we take a look at my cheap Chrysler Crossfire that i bought at auction for £1000 + fees. It turns out, it's a bit of a dog and need more work than is probably needed!

Talking about the Chrysler crossfire when you take the plastic vent off the top you see a baffle with a hole that's blocked up that is your problem that was happening to me so you've got to prize the plastic rubber thing off and just put your hand behind and there's a little hole that blocks up just bang it a couple of times and the water will disappear and go down the drain hole think that happened to me I hope this helps with the crossfire because they're not a bad car really Cheers thanks Dave

It is a Crossfire that was in a flood. It was a Crossfire that some one before you tried to fix it up. You radio need to be rewired of chanfe the fuse. If you would put about 4500 euro you mght make some money. on it. Otherwise your flooded car here will run, but fall aprt soon. but for 1600 Pounds what were you expecting????

aint flood damwge it is water ingress not flooded by water. water drips spills in. I've said it for years take a car to half a dozen mot garages and you're get different results from each of them, I agree to the safety aspects to repairs but a lot of it is just a cash cow

Suspension "rust" is far too broad... Every car will have rust . It's structural that is a problem.

@@rallycrosscraig No-one said anything about using a dodgy MOT place, even their own mechanic was saying that most of the failures were advisories at best. Rust issues aside, half the failures there were advisories.

What can you do, when you are busy with lots of stock coming through the sensible option is to send it for the mot to see what it needs. Most of those fails are minor just need to sort some welding and the ball joints - no big deal really. The thing is there is not time to check all this stuff before sending it off for the mot of you are busy and once you get a big fail list like this it does put people off ( who don’t understand how little work it really is). Biggest problem is that’s it’s a Chrysler Crossfire and hard to sell even on a good day at a give away price ! It looks like it may have lived in Scotland for a while based on the crusty arches - one for the trade clearance corner I think !

Hi Joe. I Remember you getting it in and I must Admit it caught me out as Well. It looks Brilliant from a distance lol 😅. The Intior has to be Worth something and the Engine, wheels ect. The XFire are a future classic, I had one about a decade ago, loved it. It's defo worth fixing up. I have owned a lot of nice cars (currently a Velar) but the one that put the biggest smile on my face was the Xfire & you can't beat that!! Would love another one!!

I made the same mistake as you Joe. I bought a 10 plate Nissan Note from auction for 250 400 plus with fees.......long mot but not without it's issues.. After purchase i thought 'do you know what feck it im not buying shite fixer ups anymore' I didn't even pick it up, it's going back through the block at my loss. Never again. I've banded myself unless they are 90 percent retail ready.
