I had a MR2 Turbo when I was 20 years old with rims, an exhaust, and some light modifications for increased hp. I pulled into a car dealership having a car show, as I was a car enthusiast at the time. I was in a lowered MR2 Turbo, this was June of 2006 during the SUV craze. I couldn't see through the SUV's like I was superman, I see a parking spot that appears wide an open. I went to pull into what appeared to be a plain and open parking spot. I pull in, and next thing I hear is a loud metal on metal scraping noise. The car next to me, I had no idea at the time, was in fact a rotating display car. There was literally nothing telling me that this parking spot was not ok to park in. For that matter, since that day, over 10 years later, the dealership has put cones in that parking spot, pretty much admitting guilt due to their negligence. Now first of all, while people might doubt a 21 year old telling this story in a flashy sports car (bear in mind I'm at a car show where everyone has a flashy car), I am now 31 years old, a grown ass man, and I am 100% in my convictions, that the dealership was 100% at fault for damaging my car. I went to small claims court, and I had no lawyer, because it's small claims, I told my story and brought a 5 minute video explaining the events of that day that lead up to my car getting damaged. This is what the judge told me, not because of circumstances I presented to her, but 100% purely and entirely because of my age, and the car I drove, I was guilty of reckless driving, and I deserved to have my beloved car damaged by their rotating display. I was pretty fucking pissed, no not pretty fucking pissed, like epic pissed like I wanted to murder someone pissed, I got absolutely no justice, I got stuck with a $1,300 repair bill at a time when I was going to college full-time and was making $70 every 2 weeks at a daycare. It felt like getting fucked out of over 6 months worth of pay if I didn't spend a penny the entire time. Well I went back to that dealership about 3 weeks later at 2am on a Sunday, I had a ski mask on and me and a friend slashed about 50 tires at the dealership, probably did at least over $5,000 damage to the cars on their lot. And as we left that dealership I said to my friend "You shouldn't throw rocks when you live in a glass house." Never got caught for that matter, and statute of limitations is up on the crime.

I got one many years ago on a Honda 50cc step-through scooter .This cop pulled me over and said he clocked me at 75MPH in a 30MPH zone . The bike had a top speed of 43 MPH down the side of a well with a tail wind . I took it to court and even had an engineer from HONDA testify that there was no possible way the bike could go 75mph . Fortunately, the judge believed me and my witnesses . He waived the fine & he told the cop that he should make sure of his facts before making false charges . For 6 months that cop followed me trying to get me for something else . I finally went to the court to the same judge and file a charge of harassment against him . It was the only way I could get him to stop hounding me .

I’m a retired engineer from the company that manufactures Ladar and Radar systems for police vehicles. What most people don’t know, is that Radar units utilize Doppler, basically seeking the largest target. So, if you are on a motorcycle and within Doppler range there is a vehicle traveling faster, the cop will get a “false” read on your speed. He is pointing his Radar unit at you, but actually picks up the larger target. That includes traffic on the other side as well.As for Ladar ( laser ) .. many times more accurate. Get caught on Laser and there is not likely a reasonable defense. However, get cUght on Radar and plead your case using the “largest target” defense, especially if you are moving along with a cluster of vehicles.

I went into court once and told the prosecutor I wasn't even moving. Seriously. I told him I was sitting still in one place and the world, the Earth, was spinning underneath me 97 miles per hour. I asked him,,, "You want me to be responsible for the speed of the earth?" He was in a decent mood and laughed and knocked it down to the lowest bracket.

I have been driving for more than 23 years and I have had one speeding ticket. It was for like 82 in a 70 mph zone. Pretty weak huh!!! I got it when I was 29 and I am now 38. In fact over the past 4-5 years I have gotten more tickets than I did in the 18-19 years prior. They are not for speed but for seatbelt, running a red light, and for turning in an improper lane. I always tend to mostly drive like 8-14 mph over on the highway which is 75 mph. I actually drove much slower on the highway when I was 16 than I do now. I would only drive like 2 mph over the speed limit when I was 16.

You should have self represented, demanded a jury trial, and subpoena'd the officer for the video. If no video was produced, you could have directly addressed the jury, stating, "This court requires you to declare me innocent until such a time that I am proven by the prosecution to be guilty beyond reasonable doubt. Do you find it reasonable that a person would break the speed limit when and only when they are passing a police officer? There is no evidence whatsoever to support the accusation that I was speeding. I therefore implore you to follow your duty and declare me innocent on the grounds of reasonable doubt due to insufficient evidence to support this officer's unsubstantiated claims." Unlike the judge, the jury is specifically instructed to find you innocent unless they have zero reasonable doubt that you committed the act of speeding. This is also the judge's duty as well, but a judge may decide to go along with the officer. After all, they have a history of doing so. By self representing, you would have saved yourself thousands of dollars, and perhaps could have invested that in your bike or toward a new bike. I am sorry to hear of this miscarriage of justice. Next time, maybe consider not stopping? Nah. Good on you for obeying the law, even if the law didn't realize it.

The cop works for the corporation. You need to be smart about that. You do need to learn a lesson, but it's not too late and there is something you can do about it, that is not life those are thieves in black robs and their minions the cops. The cop is a willing participant to the theft. Maybe a rookie does not know, but after a few months on the streets, they know and they will participate knowingly because as long as people are ignorant, they'll give the cops the benefit of the doubt as to being good or bad. The cops have a right like everyone else to educated themselves. Just doing my job or just following orders did not help the Nazis' who used that defense at the Nuremburg Trials and they were hung for just following orders. When the orders are a crime, theft in traffic courts, those thieves should be punished for their wrongdoing. Search for patriotas1600 to learn the way.

Have you learned your lesson yet, don't stop. Just kidding but it's sad to see that the cops in this country are becoming more like rent a cop security guards on an overblown power trip. I have lost so much respect for them in the last several years, I know its not all of them but after watching all these videos and hearing the stories about the guys that do stop and get harassed, ticketed, taken to jail, beat up, and killed for little too no reason and the boys in blue always back there own, no matter what the evidence shows. How is it that you got convicted of a crime based on the JUDGEMENT of an officer. No radar, no laser, no lidar but just because he THINKS you were going that fast. No evidence but still convicted. I've noticed that if you are on a slower bike or not willing to run they will stop you and reem the hell out of you with tickets even if you are not doing anything wrong, but because they cant catch the fast guys they pick on the weaker ones just like a bully.

Always ask for a jury. A jury wouldn't have put up with that cop's bs. 9 times out of 10, judges side with cops. Cops seem not to have to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt when it's just the judge that gets to decide. Btw, your lawyers suck, and I don't know why on earth they didn't ask for a jury. You could have fought that yourself with the same results.

In order to win in court, you have to know how to conduct a court. You have to challenge jurisdiction because a speeding ticket when no one is hurt is not a crime unless you work for the corporation called the city of whatever. If you did not sign a contract with the city, you cannot violate their self-made laws. U.S. v. Interstate Commerce Commission, courts adjudicate only justiciable issues. Someone needs to be injured or incur a loss. It's like Sears Corporation taking you to court for a speeding ticket. There's is no jurisdiction. search patriotas1600 to show you the way.
