Which portfolio do you think will perform the best in 2024? Do we own any of the same stocks?

In these uncertain times, it's more important than ever to have a solid understanding of how to manage your finances, invest wisely and navigate economic downturns. But my primary concern is how to grow my reserve of $240k which has been sitting duck since forever with zero to no gains, sure I'm all in on the long term game, but with my savings are lying waste to inflation and my portfolio losing gains everyday, I need a remedy.

If you need advice, consider speaking with a financial advisor. Don't get me wrong, you can do it on your own, but financial advisors have a lot more knowledge and expertise in this area.

You are completely right, Advisors have information and paths that are not disclosed to the public.. I profited £560k in 2022 under the tutelage of my Fiduciary-counselor. Am I selling? Absolutely not.. I am going to sit back and observe how this all plays out.

That's impressive! I could really use the expertise of this manager for my dwindling portfolio. Who’s the professional guiding you?

She appears to be well-educated and well-read. I ran an online search on her name and came across her website; thank you for sharing.

Hi Gifford, Love all your video content you share!! Keep up the good work!! How have you funded your interactive account? Are you signed up with Revolut or Wise or do you do a direct transfer from your bank? Also, can interactive brokers convert currency from NZD to USD or does the funds need to be converted before entering funds into the interactive account. Sorry for so many questions, I am also based in NZ and looking at changing platforms to trade the USD market and start trading options. Very new to all of this!! Thanks 🙂

Hi, not a problem at all, made this channel to help others and share. IBKR has instructions how to fund accounts. The easy way I like to do it is use my NZ bank account and transfer to IBKR Citi bank account which is NZ based. Its free. Make sure you put your account reference number, this NZ money then will be in your IBKR account. To use, convert to USD in there platform, easy to do. Leave some NZD for fees etc, currency xchange is cheaper than others. Hope it helps, good to see others doing options. Mine is not doing well at the moment however I do like options very much. Cheers

Nice video, thanks for sharing. Btw; I see that you do option trading on IBKR - that PDT rule of minimum 25K USD is not applicable in your margin account?
@giffordjourneyto1million5 ай бұрын
I do monthly options so well over the threshold. The account was over 50k at one stage before I changed strategy. I am trying to build it back up slowly as I carry on testing

Hey bro just let me clear I saw you investing in sharesies in dividend stock u know better dividend is not growth stock they are just dividend stock if you hold for long term sone time you have to pay 5% fif tax on your pocket if they not give more than 8% in year profit how you handle it

Hey, I can see you're confused about tax on overseas investments. I can't give tax advice so you need to talk to an accountant. What I do is that I am not over the 50k cost basis for FIF tax. I pay income tax on my dividends, it will be about $300-500 this year from my options. The rest is in funds which I don't need to pay tax, Smart shares is good. Also having a partner means you can have 50k each so pretty good. You can message me over on Instagram if you want more info, cheers

Nice video and portfolio. What is your justification for using lots of different brokerages? Is it to get the lowest fees based on the type of trading you do, or to mitigate risk in case one of the brokerages goes bankrupt? I currently have all my money in Sharesies but I'm looking to transfer it all to IBKR for the lower fees, what are your opinions on that?
@giffordjourneyto1million5 ай бұрын
That's 100% bang on. It's to separate each strategy together for the lowest fees. I really like trying all the different ways to make money in the market and they all have their investing purpose. Having it in each portfolio means I can track it easier and more importantly follow the plan without getting lost. IBKR is the cheapest however you can't access NZX stocks. I really like seeing my kiwisaver on sharesies too even tho I pay a fee for it

@@giffordjourneyto1millionwhat about Tiger?
@giffordjourneyto1million4 ай бұрын
Tiger has been in trouble for being dodgy in the past, you can google search. I just don't trust my money in china where it's kept, most are ok with it. IBKR is in USA, is a public account and I know NZ millionaires who trust the platform. It's also the cheapest and gives the most access to worldwide markets, it's best in class for NZ

isnt an index fund better you dont have to gamble
@giffordjourneyto1million3 ай бұрын
Hi, yes and no. Index funds are great however it depends what your goals and current life situations is which should match your strategy. If I didn't gamble some things, I wouldn't be mortgage free. Index funds for retirement is the way to go tho, cheers
