Another great overview, Craig. The Lover Speaks was the band that originally did 'No More I Love You's.' I still play All You Can Eat quite a bit. Erasure I knew would make their anticipated appearance! Your Top 2 are spot on 😎🎶

You've got some of my ALL-TIIME favorites on here, my guy. I still listen to Tragic Kingdom, Jagged Little Pill, Post, Only Everything on the regular (on CD but still). That 90's era Alternative is by far my favorite genre.

I so love that you kept going with these. 95 was a fantastic year and you named some of my all-time favorites. I feel like I always have to defend Erasure's self-titled...My favorite album of theirs...all the beautiful expansive mixes and dreamy electronics mixed with top notch songwriting and some of Andy's best vocals ever. It is a masterclass in pop maturity, a band that grew and changed...the wonderful Thomas Fehlmann of the Orb helping out in the broadening of the material. REALLY wish they had worked with him again somewhere. Cowboy was a course-correcting followup that put them back in boppy territory, but this album was really something else. Looks that you may have an original copy like me...I sought that out and paid sort of big money at the time for it, before they reissued their albums and I bought it again. Totally worth it and up there with Pet Shop Boys' Very for my choice of top electropop album of the 90's. Also really love Prince's Gold Experience. I felt so many people missed this album the first time because Warner Brothers tried to kill it as his contract was ending. It was his most rockin' album since Purple Rain (other than the rather weak Chaos & Disorder) and the last album of his in which I loved everything (Emancipation I liked about 2/3 a lot...then he was more erratic for me). Totally agree on the Radiohead, the Bjork, and the PJ (I can't believe you don't have another...Stories from the City is my favorite). Here are some of my other top albums of 95: Tricky--Maxinquaye, David Bowie--Outside, Garbage--Garbage, Elastica--Elastica, Gene--Olympian, Marc Almond--Fantastic Star, Moloko--Do You Like My TIght Sweater?, Oasis--What's the Story Morning Glory?, Scott Walker--Tilt, Blur--The Great Escape, Emmylou Harris--Wrecking Ball, Peter Murphy--Cascade, Tindersticks--II, etc. I'm sure there are some I've missed! Can't wait to see 96!

@@electricavenuemusic9282 “Erasure” is perfect. I have not heard of most of your favorites. I don’t admit this often because people freak out but I can’t stand Oasis! They just do nothing for me. I find them drab and boring. I’ll stop there! I always love reading your comments!

That is the reissue of “Erasure”. I tried for years to find the original but never had any luck. Was very happy when they reissued the catalogue. Most of them I have are OG (except for the ones that had never been on vinyl previously)

@@CraigsVinylPlethoraHa! Drab & Boring! Maybe those should be the new Gallagher nicknames. I do like the first 2 and the B-sides, but I was more a Pulp/Suede/Blur guy. I get it...the laddishness can be overbearing. I liked their stuff early on and they were more give n take after that. Their last album, Dig Out Your Soul, was quite good, and their recent solo efforts have been good. But yes...I prefer a Primal Scream by far. If you love the Smiths you'll love Gene, but mainly Olympian...GREAT album!

I feel like you might enjoy Letters To Cleo, especially their 1995(!!) album 'Wholesale meats and fish', considering you like No Doubt, Juliana Hatfield and Alanis. 'Awake' is a catchy single from that album.

The song No More I Love You's was originally by The Lover Speaks. I reckon theirs is the superior version.

For me... my opinion... this was a horrible year for album releases. I liked Pulp, Jagged Little Pill, PJ Harvey, and I guess Bjork. Foo Fighters debut was solid. But overall, I'd have a hard time finding 14. However... your story of the socks and sandals was awesome. I've been sick for a week, and that sent me into a total coughing fit from laughing. Thank you, sir.
