Thank you so much for this amazing video. The best part for me is that you included the water parameters for each of the fish! I like to take good care of my fish so I keep a spreadsheet documents with water paraments and fish info for everything that I have in my aquarium, including plants and shrimps :)

I have 15 embers in my 60cm, they were very shy and hid at the back of the tank so I added 10 neon tetras and this bought them out of hiding. They all school together and it looks amazing. Great little fish

A super amazing center piece fish would be the dwarf gourami (Colisa Lalia) for people who don't really want dwarf cichlids but want a slightly bigger main fish that is also really beautiful. They are super smart and have tons of personality. I keep a male with 15 green neons and 6 red rainbowfish in 70L aquascape.

All great fish. You get an A+ for the pronunciation of the Latin names. You say them with confidence, which I think makes them sound more right lol. I took a little bit of Latin in school, and it sounds right to me. Great video. Take care.

My suggestion to anyone considering a neon tetra is to avoid them - in my experience they are by far the most sickly fish in the hobby. Green neon tetras are much hardier.

Idk man not my experience. My mom bought 12 neon greens like 3 months ago. There are 5 left. They jump out, and just die off unexpectantly. Water parameters are great, heavily planted. They seem VERY spooked and easily startled. They are beautiful, but have been very hard to keep for us.
@PaulZyCZ
@PaulZyCZ 2 жыл бұрын
@@Joshua-uq9zw Too much light maybe? They tend to be skittish. If you lost so many of them, I'd expect the whole batch being infected or otherwise compromised. Those things happen and I had that this issue with guppies in the past. Guppies from a master breeder were a completely different animal. I've got about 15 green neon tetras where half of them are several years old. They lived in 31l tank with no heater which at one point lost all plants (moving), then they were moved to 84l tank with Ram cichlids which need warm water. Some of them died over the years and I bought several more, but overall they seem pretty easy to keep. Heck, some of them caught Ich from Rams, but survived without any treatment but tank being heated to 27°C. Similar to rasboras in their needs, unlike Ember Tetras and Corries. Some Embers would die from the shock when I was trying to catch them with a net.

Depends where you buy them, most petshops buy fish from home breeders, who don't care about interbreeding for profit. Makes me sick.

White Cloud Mountain Minnows are one of my favs, the colours on the males when they are showing to the females are amazing. I have one (and I think another young male) with lovely bright yellow tips to his fins. Easy to keep with their low temperature threshold. I’ve had a few babies without really trying.

@@Ricelover12 Chili Rasboras. Theyre teeny tiny for Nano Fish and are very clorful. A school of 5 or 6 would do well there. Id put 2 or 3 Dwarf Corydoras in to keep the bottom clean and eat up any leftover uneaten food as well. Theyre tiny also. I put in some Top Fin Algae thins to feed the Plecos in my 3.5 gallon tank. 1 or 2 every 3 or 4 days just to keep them happy. Theyre tiny wafers also. So great in a 3.5 gallon.

My CPD are constantly swimming in the most dense bushes of vegetation, not scared, they just love being there. They're constantly breeding and also constantly eating the eggs and the fry... unless I grow the fry in a separate tank, I find there's no vegetation or moss dense enough to keep the fry safe from the adults. I have 10 CPD in a 60p and I think they're way too little. I'm currently growing 15 fry and I'll add them in the 60p in the next two months. I have a friend who loves them and, since they're quite shy, he has about 50 or 60 in an 80p. For a 60p he suggest 30 or 40. I don't know, I feel it's a bit too much, but I'm no expert. Overall, a very hardy fish, very easy to breed, eats easily anything, it's NOT a shoaling fish, never seen physical aggressions, I love the males "dancing" in front of the females and the territorial behavior of the alpha males. I would personally put an higher number than commonly suggested and do not exceed with hiding places or they're gonna disappear for the most part of the day... if not always. My boyfriend says those are "expensive little hidden bastards"... and it's hard not to agree 😅
@akifhafie8561

My mistake is getting them without realizing how shy, and how NOT a schooling species they are (I intended for them to be my main schooling fish )😂😂😂 Your bf is so on point though, expensive little hidden buggers.

60 cm is decent length and I like the selection. I used to have White Cloud Mountain Minnows in a much smaller tank years ago, they are great fish. I've got 73.5l Optiwhite with a group of Corydoras Nanus, Amano shrimps and guppies. Other 84l houses school of Green Neon Tetras, 3 Ramirezi cichlids (1 male), Cherries and some Amano shrimps. Downside: Rams require warmer water, so the plants have some issues. I'm considering turning that tank into a Blackwater.

Also, no rice fish ?! :D For whoever wants stocking options for a 60cm I have 6 neons, 12 CPD and 6 pygmy corys and I think Im kinda overstocked.
