Hi mate, thanks for sharing your experiences. My Dad passed away in July, so I've been trying to fight off depression. My son is the reason why I want to get out of bed in the morning. My Dad was never the 9-5 type of man and always did his own thing, despite having not much money. I'm the same, I quit my last full time job in 2013 after my grandmother died. I was only there for about 6 months but I was diagnosed with depression and felt sick to go into work everyday. After I quit I went back to my Doctor and he said "you look like a different person". Since then I've been basically self employed, in the cleaning industry. Even though I've been earning less than what I was making in my 9-5 job, I can schedule my day and time how I want. As some successful people have said, money buys you TIME. I used to want Porsches and Ferraris and all that but now I think I'd rather travel instead. Plus those toys are extremely expensive in Australia. I've now decided I'm going to cut out an addiction that I've had for a while, and focus on improving my health and mind. I was jogging on the treadmill while watching this, and the time went quickly which is good. Looking forward to going to the Philippines and taking my family there at the end of the year, life is short bro. Keep them coming man you deserve more subs 👍 Peace from Australia 🇦🇺✌️

This is such an underrated channel, lots of useful information and you come across very genuine. Would you mind if I ask you about your camera setup when you record these videos? Im not sure if i should start recording with my phone and a tripod first or a "real" camera.

Thank you for your kind comment! I just record with my Samsung s21 phone with the selfie camera with a mini tripod. I recommend using the front camera for better quality on other phones. Just get yourself recording, talking head videos dont really need better camera. Good luck!

Donny, I have bben watching you (and subscrbed) for a short time, and continue to watch because you inspire me. I want to start a YT channel, but I am hesitant to put me "out there" for the world to judge and criticize. Though, I know that mzny people do not do that, and instead share valuable things when they comment. I sm following several emerging KZbinrs to get to the point when I have gathered enough courage to start. Thank you for a great video. I am learning from you. Keep growing and teaching!

@@DonnyLulu Thank you for the encouragement! Like you, I grew up with feeling unseen and unheard. I struggle with lack of courage mostly for lack of a support system. When i watch KZbin creators, like you and Daniel Schwartz (SweetHomeFarm1), I feel inspired because your words resonate with my essence, values and to a great extent, beliefs. I like your depth and sincerity! It is so heartwarming! I want to have a similar channel and the technical side (equipment, editing, etc) is a huge reason that's holding me back. I am self-employed and my daily responsibilities consume a great deal of my energy. I am journaling and praying about it. I want to switch from my current self-employment that pays the bills to something else that allows me to express myself creatively, and that puts to use all the "content" that is bubbling inside of me.

Excellent video. Did you sacrifice time with your wife because of this path that you are on?
