Folks of a certain age like me that grew up riding in and driving these sedans appreciate how comfortable and reliable they were. Visibility was great. The seats in these Panthers sat up nice and high. The 302 was smooth as silk and ran forever. I loved these. Thank you for keeping one on the road.

I have great respect for your purveyorship of that car. It really is truly admirable to see someone who appreciates these rare survivors and keeps them running despite the difficulties sourcing parts and doing the work. 97% of people just turn their nose up and say "ew its an old car, Im not paying that to fix it, its barely worth 1,500!"

Yet, those same people are down for a $700/mo car payment.

I really enjoy seeing these cars from the '80s. Back then my Dad had a 1987 Grand Marquis LS that was a really nice cruiser. It was white on white with a gray pinstripe and a gray velour interior. That was a really great car and he had zero problems with it.

I have a red marquis year 1990. I wish I lived closer to you as you could probably help me. Right now I have tried to replace internal damaged upholstry but the seat belt anchor bolt will not come out and the head has been destroyed. I was in the process of replacing the vinyl top but had no help so right now it only has cheap white paint over primer. Also the clear is flaking and due to it being lacquer paint it seems it takes a special clear coat. The engine runs great although after a long drive, oil pressure can go down and the car can stall out. I did not know there is an economical code reader, trying to get the codes out with only one person is tough. I do not know why more of these cars are not preserved as they are an integral part of our culture. So sad to see them in the junkyard.

Pretty cool video: However (and this may depend on several factors, including the severity of the knock/s) I beg to differ on the rod knock issue sir. I replaced both the connecting rod bearings and the main bearings in my 99 Cavalier, without rebuilding the entire engine, (again depending on various circumstances and variables refering to the individual situation) or removing it from the vehicle) by dropping the oil pan, swapping out the bearings, retorquing the cap bolts, installing a new oil pan gasket and buttoning it up; now the engine runs and sounds like new...
