Did some exhaust work and engine mods not noticeable, with the exception of the cold air intake, but it still looks stock and still has all OEM hoses and serpentine belt under the hood just had to have someone rebuilt the original alternator. I’d change it personally. I know a lot of guys keep their original spoilers. I’ve still got mine in the attic. A lot of 94-95 Cobra owners swap out their trunk lid to a V6 or GT trunk so they don’t mess up the original trunk, plus they gain the 3rd brake light back. All depends on what you want. A 94-95 cobra that’s lowered with an R hood and stock spoiler still looks good. I just prefer the T1 wing. It transforms the look of the car.

The 94-95 Mustang Gt and Cobra stand alone and I have had every generation except I never owned a fox body. I looked at a few but never bought one. I think with the spring of 1968 engine and the look of the 94-95 cars stand alone as a two year run. I know the platform actually runs from 94-04 it doesn’t mean they all look alike or have the same engine. They are the most misunderstood cars ever. Is that an ABC exclusive cobra clip, or the full complete front bumper? I have the GT version. They were a local shop, but in all the magazines, especially in the aughts, but they stopped selling them several years ago. I’m not even sure they still sell mustang parts
@scottsvt9104 Жыл бұрын
I think they are still in business. It’s the ABC exclusive complete front bumper. They stopped making the complete front bumper for a while but you could still buy the clip for a stock Cobra bumper. I painted this car in 2009 so it’s been over a decade since I put everything together. I got one of their last urethane Cobra bumpers. So I think they only use fiberglass now.
@UmmYeahOk Жыл бұрын
@@scottsvt9104 their website changed and do not show any mustang parts, though have embedded a mustang into their logo (probably because that’s where they got their start). You can still find the old website with products through a Google search though. From there things are listed as either being discontinued or refer to a different company, like he may have sold the molds, but that company doesn’t seem to sell their product either. I am super scared because I am on my third bumper of theirs, and got it in 2014. In 2018, I gutted the car, and it shattered, but thankfully had not yet installed the bumper. In 2019, a guy rear ended me (I have the rear too), the day I left the shop with the new front bumper and paint, but thankfully it didn’t cause any damage. When I park, I am like 3 feet away from the curb because of how over protective I am of that bumper! My husband paid extra to have it delivered, and the owner actually drove it over on his truck! I was impressed that it was urethane, as the others were fiberglass (We actually repaired the last too with more fiberglass) and he said they always were urethane. But they were always white gel coat on the outside, yellow on the inside, and this new one was all black. There was a reason this was my third. The corners on the top of the bumper would crack!! I have had their style of bumper since 2003, and my two piece speeder covers I got from them in 2000. There was a time in which they stopped selling the clips, bumper only, because someone on a 3.8 forum refused to buy the bumper, opting to buy the cheaper clip and then paying a body shop to graft it on, and he was a bit of a jerk about it since (big surprise) it wasn’t perfect, and naturally was heavily labor intensive. I wouldn’t put it past them to decide to stop selling mustang parts due to people like that. But that one single event was several years before then.
@scottsvt9104 Жыл бұрын
@@UmmYeahOk wow I actually remember that guy from the 3.8 forums. He painted his car like in a two tone color. Black and copper/orange if that’s the guy. I think ABC exclusive made some good bumpers back in the day. My hood is also ABC exclusive. The white gel coat and yellow inside were good strong urethane bumpers in my experience. I wish they still made them. I may need to do more research. The one thing I always liked about the SN95 was the wide availability of body kits available so you could pretty much make a unique car. Today options are slim.
@UmmYeahOk Жыл бұрын
@@scottsvt9104 that’s the one! I don’t know if his name was autobadges, or if they sponsored the crap out of him in order to promote it. I told him before he even bought the clip that it would cost more in labor to do what he wanted, and to just buy the full bumper. So I didn’t feel at all sorry for him when it wasn’t 100% perfect. Not sure if you’d remember me. My name on the forum was MyLittlePony. It still is on almost all mustang forums, though I’m no longer active. I had the Rio red 94 convertible with the fabulously rare red interior. I had a v8 swap done in 2008 though, so no longer a 3.8. Yours was a v6? The modding scene was huge because back then so many people had these cars that you wanted yours to be special and unique. Nowadays, just buying a stock mustang makes you special and unique because it’s not a truck or SUV. The tuner crowd fast and the furious wannabes also helped make the hobby popular in the day. Nowadays there’s no point. My Model S can out run any mustang. And honestly a new 4 cylinder or even the last v6 mustangs could out run a stock 5.0. So what’s the point? What’s sad is that what little is left on the market is still that horrible black widow kit, and maybe a few shogun kits.

@@UmmYeahOk I had a 1998 V6 Mustang as my first car back in the day. I hit a deer with that car and bought my 1995 GT 5.0 from my cousin to replace it. I probably did see some of your posts. I was mostly a forum browser back then because I didn’t think my car was good enough to post. Of course there was that poster on the forums with the 9 second turbo V6 which was actually faster or as fast as a Tesla. It was a white 94 or 95 with a cobra hood and bumper.

Love the car Scott! (1) Is the suspension at stock height? My bone stock 94 Cobra seems like it needs maybe a one half to one inch drop in the rear only ... Rather 4x4 looking back there and has a slight forward rake to it I could do without. Was thinking a Cobra R style hood (shallow) would help with that profile. (2) Seats ... custom? Mine has the saddle cloth, still look new at 68K and 29 years, but some leather trim would look nice. Those original leather seats they used deteriorated so quickly.
@scottsvt9104 Жыл бұрын
Thanks! I have a set of Eibach pro kit springs on mine in the video. Honestly the Eibach springs barely lowered the car. I’d go with H&R springs if I were to start over. It did take a lot of the 4x4 look off the car. The Cobra R hood would look great on yours! I’d try to get the same size as the stock 95 R for the hood since your car is a Cobra. My seats were originally saddle cloth but I had them custom upholstered to black and tan. There’s lots of options for seats. I’d check LMR and see what is in stock.

I own a 98 I feel like ford shit the bed with those mod motors. Yours is gorgeous. Mine is performance red with black on black leather interior. They should have kept that 5.0 it was easier to get power out of
@scottsvt9104 Жыл бұрын
The old 5.0 is my favorite engine along with the 351. They had some major opportunities to improve those pushrod engines but they chose that 4.6. The 4.6 didn’t make much sense to me. Even before the Coyote came out I never understood why Ford didn’t just stroke the 4.6 to 5.0 in 1996. It would have made a lot more power in DOHC form.
@mikehunt8247 Жыл бұрын
@Scott SVT I agree 100% thr only way to fit a 5.8 351 in those sn95s is to run a carb set up iv heard unless you delete things. Or maybe running a cowl hood. Iv heard the hood clearance Is an issue. The 2 valve mod motors arw horrendous to try and attain power out of. It's basically forced induction or a full 20 thousand dollar rebuild of the motor. And when you run forced induction on stock internals even at the 8psi recommendation your risking blowing your motor up. Those pushrod 5.0s can be easily improved via bolt ons.
@scottsvt9104 Жыл бұрын
@@mikehunt8247 you are right that you have to get a taller hood with the 351 just like the 1995 Cobra R Mustang but you can also use fuel injection you just need a good tuner who knows those old computers. 1994-1998 none-R model Saleen Mustang used a stock hood with the 351. But they had to slot the K-member to lower the engine and they used 1984 Fox convertible motor mounts for extra clearance.
@mikehunt8247 Жыл бұрын
@Scott SVT wow I learned something today you are a wealth of knowledge! I didn't know that about the k member and fox motor mounts. Yeah for fuel injection I can't remember what the problem there was maybe just price? I am certain those old cpus in those cars don't do well with big changes I know trying to get a tune on mine was nightmare. It's still yet to be done. It's too bad cause they are an amazing vehicle as you said in your video the interior in these things are amazing they handle better than fox bodies too. But they need a better power plant
@scottsvt9104 Жыл бұрын
@@mikehunt8247 No problem, the old CPU’s weren’t very good on the Saleen S351’s with the superchargers. They finally fixed the CPU issue around the end of 1997 but by that time the S351 only had about two more years of production left. So 1998 and the 1999 New Edge S351 were the best years. Today you can get a Holley Terminator system and bypass all the old computer problems. The only problem is that it’s expensive so I can see why not many people want to do it but if you love your car I think it’s worth it.

I think the reason is the 1994-2004 body style is the last time Ford was making a new design that was not a retro type look. So it looked almost by itself in design for its time. Very similar to the FD RX-7 and MK4 Supra with the 1990’s rounder body style.

I will have to respectfully disagree. The SN95 in proper trim(Saleen/Cobra bodywork+wheels) and stance is one of the most beautiful Mustangs ever made. The stock 4x4 springed GT SN95 was most certainly fugly and that’s what most people see or have ever seen in their life so it’s understandable.
