1JZ GTE prices have been ridiculous as of late! The biggest hurdle I see with this build is sourcing an intake manifold and issues with the distributor system for tuning. But this is a welcome build and really like your sensibility of not overpaying as things really start to add up over time for those of us without deep pockets. I can't wait to see the end result man keep on truckin!

The VVTI hasn't got a distributor and the head is the same as the 2JZGE VVTI so manifold are same of the shelf

Ill be keeping an eye on this...by any chance before the teardown could i hear what the 1jge vvti sounds like with just a muffler delete (just the tail end keeping the resonator) Vids with straight piped 1jge are hard to find if theres even any💀

Hey there I thought i'd just ask if this build is scrapped? I'm kind of suprise at how often the cars change, this was my main attention grabber to the channel because no one else does this. You can look everywhere and see that 1jz na gets no love and there's nothing known about them. I would expect an turbo na 1jz to be better than an 7m gte though.

What would be the case if I were to na-t a 1jz-ge NON VVTI? I currently have one and it seems that the distributor is different but apart from that and the vvti system. How would the internals be? I assume the cranks and con rods are the same as the gte model considering thats how the case is for the non-vvti model in the 2jz-ge with 2jz-gte. Thanks!

As far as I am aware that is correct. You are good to go boosting. Regarding the distributor I think it would be best to try and use another trigger system.

What is the difference of the 2jz ge vvti vs the 1jz ge vvti ? Wanting to a project but can't find info and why non vvti gte pistons and not vvti ones ?

Head is the same. Otherwise obviously the displacement. Both have high comp pistons and skinny rods. Pure avalibilit with the pistons, not choice.

Definitely easier. I had one but decided to sell. I cannot justify 3k+ for a swap. Plus this will make better videos.
