ill put some tips here assuming that this is a real attempt and im not missing a joke (no offense): if you're making a solo map either use maincfg to change map properties or overwrite an existing map to use that maps properties, using the mapslot of an existing map though should only be used for testing and not a release version due to conflict between vanilla and the mod general rule of thumb, if using the sky for a ceiling use the same ceiling height for all sky ceilings, (a good height for the ceiling in outside areas is 1600 assuming the sector the player spawns on has a floor height of 0) USE CTRL+C CTRL+V AND PARTS OF SHAPE TOOLS (e.g 1/4th of a ellipse tool circle for stuff like curved roads), THEY ARE YOUR FRIENDS. for outside areas, unless you want massive walls as if trump just rolled up (something you might actually want sometimes, look at meadow match), assuming the area is a square (rule still applies if it isnt), create a sector around the playable sector, make sure the linedefs are at least 32 units to make sure they dont fuck with the playable sector, then make the ceiling height the same height as the floor height and leave the upper texture of the linedef shared by the inlevel sector and the "thok barrier" (the thing you just made outlining the map) textureless, if the floor height and ceiling height are higher than the inlevel sector than the lower texture is used as a wall (look at the end of gfz1, gfz3, beginning of thz1). fofs (floor over floors, basically floating platforms you can go under) can be a bit more complex but ill try and make this short, even if the ground is flat, make a seperate sector in the existing sector (eg put square in square) and tag the sector with tag 1 (or any unused tag) than outside the map make a right triangle (or a square if you're fucking insane) and set one of the linedefs to tag 1 aswell (or the tag you used) and give it the special property 100, you now have a fof, the floor texture and floor height determine the texture and location of the bottom with ceilings being the top and the sides being determined by the linedef with the property 100, and brightness determines the darkness of the shadow, you can actually use this for downward pointing lights by making the brightness higher than the sector in the level.

while this vid is 'old', I'm gonna say it. this map is wasaasaaaayyyyy too clatrophobic, there isn't actually any level design and it just... Is bad.... Even if its ur first map, take a look at gfz1. Is it smol? No. Is there level design? Yes. Is it bad? No. So try taking inspiration for a level next time, alright
