In all my life and many years of playing hockey... From Mites to Juniors... I literally don’t think I’ve ever been to a rink/arena that didn’t have pegs for the net... That’s the strangest thing I’ve ever heard.. Was there a reason why.? Are the Swedish like Ice purest and don’t believe in stabbing them into the ice or some shit?
@houseadams48414 жыл бұрын
Also... glad to see you playing again. Not that I know you from the guy walking down the street... But I’ve watched your videos for a while.. and you seem to have an extra “pep” in your step.. I know the importance of playing while you still can and being on a team.. Best of luck..
@nilzzon03324 жыл бұрын
House Adams im from sweden. There are a few rinks that dont have these pegs because most of the hockeyplayers and staff are not aware of this problem for goalies. I also think that the staff are just too lazy to buy these pegs...
@sglc71004 жыл бұрын
Trav, you need to get the rink a set of pegs! I'm sure you feel the same way but nothing is worse in this world than playing without pegs. I feel like I can't even play hockey when I don't have them. Btw, I'm 6'6" so there's a lot of weight on the pegs.
@T0rche4 жыл бұрын
I gotta admit... I had my doubts... In life in general I'm a pretty skeptical person. I have a hard time being positive sometimes lol... I was like: "Man he seems like a cool dude but he spends his time making videos and joking around... and looking for sponsors... he's too distracted. He's not going to make it in pro hockey" ... but watching the last couple videos I gotta say really changed my whole perspective. Seeing you hauling your gear on the bus for a 45 min commute to practice, making due with that tiny living space, being away from home. Doing all this out of your own pocket.... That's pure motivation man. You really are chasing your dream at any cost. I wish you all the luck and keep up the hard work! Respect.

Indeed, you can dry cloths outside even in - 50c. My grandmother did that, it was the only way they could. House was not big enough to dry them indoors with 6 kids. The water goes from solid form to gas form without the liquid form in between. Called sublimering in Swedish.

The name of the store is actually ICA (pronounced something like eeka), maxi is the largest kind of ICA store with the best prices, there's also ICA kvantum, supermarket and nära (kvantum beeing largest of the three and nära beeing smallest). And for the living situation it's quite a mess in Stockholm, best bet is to look in various local Facebook groups (should be one specifically for flemingsberg) for second hand rental of rooms or apartments. That guy promising you a cellar for 200 bucks sure as hell set you up, Stockholm is never that cheap unfortunately. Expect to pay anywhere between 4k-10k Swedish kronor depending on size, sometimes even more. Feel free to hit me up in a pm or so if you wanna know more about our glorious but insanely expensive country and specifically Stockholm (live on the north side) :)

@@goalie2998 We pay for it with taxes, which are automatically taken from our salary. Still we earn around 3500usd/month on average, so it doesn't even matter. You should listen when you are given help, but no, you think you are the worlds center and best in everything. Maybe you could be closer to nordic countries in lists which measure life satisfaction, happiness or school system. Or anything. Oh! And the school is free and university and every other school too. Nordic countries top each of those lists btw, Canada is pretty high up in most of em, but not U.S.

@@nikoa97 maybe you mis heard or mis read a comment. I was never critical. I'm happy enough in the U.S. We do have a ton of free loaders who would love to head over that way though.

Hey Trav! Love your Videos and it's always puts a smile on my face no matter how bad it's gone....ooooh also idk if you have one of those fan things like in the bathroom but from my experience of living in hotel rooms in china for 3 weeks you turn that thing on and close the door and everything dries overnight.( Even in like 80 percent humidity) idk may be helpful....or you maynot have one of those things and what I just wrote was pretty much useless 😂 .... anyway good luck in Sweden!!!

Hey, not sure if you can answer this or no, but why does goalies now adays just drop on their knees asap? It feels like no matter what the situation is, solution(or so it seems) is always down on your knees?

@@Travis_Ridgen But I feel like you see a lot of goals where they just know The goalie is going down on their knees, so they just shoot above their shoulder. I mean, you are probably right, but it feels like goalies always keeps their gloves low and never react to it. Also feels like shorter goalies does this. Also, good luck in Sweden! ;)

Great video. Wheeled goalie bag seems like a good thing to have now, but they are pricey. Unless I missed it, how did you meet up with Sweens and what is he doing in Sweden? I see the goalie coach spends time with one of the goalies while the team practices with the other goalie. Why are there only 8 or so guys at the practice? I'm assuming the roster is going to have 15 to 20 players.
