Hello mate- I'm right back into bass fishing at the minute; got a stack of classic lures- including some floaters- the Patchinko 125 and a couple of Rapala J13's. Gonna use them in the autumn for pike- never surface fished for pike- looks like a lot of fun- Best Regards, Gazza

thanks dude, yeah, that's how it goes with topwater rubber lures, but im learning fast and was glad to at least get some takes on my 1st try! Im sure I will make another video with the frogs and hopefully I will get a few fish on the bank!

Hi nice video, I’ve had hard times on those single hook frogs hook ratio is pretty bad, try using frogs with double barrel hooks, there usually walk frogs with elastic legs they require a bit more action with the rod but the hook up ratio is brilliant !! I like to fish them quite fast with quick rod tip actions gets the lure making a realistic action of a frog with pauses in between, also check out some of the American jelly frogs hooking them Texas is good hook up too, good luck dude

I have used double hook frogs since this video, but no takes, I have also changed up my retrieve too! next year I will be back it again, im not gonna beat myself up not getting a pike to much on a surface lure, its my 1st time using them. Im sure with what I have learnt this year I will bag a few come next summer. thanks for ur nice comments and feed up!

@@LondonPredatorAngler and don't be scared to retrieve through the thick Lilly's and weed I know it seems unlikely but there will be fish in there. Trust me I've had plenty of takes through thick Lilly's when I least expected it.hope my advice helps

Put more pauses in mate frogs only do short bursts. When you cast leave your frog there a few seconds, then twitch it back. Don't be afraid to cast in the middle of them lilly pads pike will lie there in ambush waiting.

Nice video , i just use a normal pike rod, i don't think the spinning rods have the power to get the hooks in.

The hook to land ratio on them frog lures are naff... try bending the hooks out with pliers just like Matt (fanter fishing) did in his video it put a fish on the bank for him . Or a stinger hook . The bite is more of a snatch than a full in take so I think hook point is the key Decent vid and Best of luck Bal 👊🏻
