My 2003 Mach 1 Mustang Story Part 1

You and your brother's videos are the reason I was able to turn my 2001 Bullitt from a temporary car that I bought for $2500 while my 2019 was being built, into a reliable daily driver that I absolutely LOVE and will never part with. I grew up loving the new edge mustangs just like you and your brother, they will always be special to me. Thanks for the great story!

Cool video! Those cars were brand new on the showroom floor when I was in high school. Funny story, a buddy of mine who was graduating high school in 2003 had wealthy parents who promised him a car for graduation. He decided he was going to get a 2003 SVT Cobra. Well, before he got it, I decided to teach him to drive manual in my VW GTI. He kept stalling, and I kept trying to instruct him on what to do, and he refused to listen. Just stall. stall. stall. stall. Wouldn't listen to me, just kept getting frustrated. Next day, he decided he didn't want the Cobra anymore, and ended up with an SVT Lightning, lol. As for myself, I was going to buy a '93 SVT Cobra back in 2014. But I had to quit my job for reasons of burnout and just being supremely unhappy. I burned through my '93 Cobra account pretty quickly. But in 2015, things turned around, and I factory ordered a bright red 2016 Mustang GT with performance package. Still have it to this day, with an MGW flat stick shifter, Michelin tires, and a Ford Racing Power Pack 2 tune. Only around 35,000 miles on it.

Thanks for the story, your videos are great as are your brothers. I have a 2001 Bullitt DHG and enjoy it immensely, all the 99-04's in their various iterations are amazing cars. Every now and again I think about a Cobra but then I take out my Bullitt and the thought goes away.

I have come to love this series of Mustangs more as the years go on. Original owner of a 26K mile Zinc Yellow Mach 1. Test drove a DHG Bullitt in 2001 but didn't pull the trigger, great car!

That was great. No, I didn’t know you had used my blue Mach 1 as a template for the hood stripe lol. Rest assured, it’s true if you thought “he won’t mind”. So many cool parts in here. Even the pic of it in front of the Halloween store to watch this time of year.

Very cool video, well presented with your photos and speaking cadence. I have a 2021 Mach1 Velocity Blue 6spd and love it! 480HP and some GT350 goodies, it really rips on and off track. I was in highschool when the New Edge debuted, I loved the looks then and they still turn my head today. MACHs with the shaker hood are definetly the picks of the litter for me. Don't give that car up, always find a way to keep it, its a beauty.

Ultimate Compound and a day of buffing took years of water spots off of mine. Unfortunately the windows remain horribly etched with them, but then I didn't even try getting those clean yet. Maybe that acid will make quick work of that.

I believe it said not to use on the windows or glass. Mine still has some spots on the glass and it’s just a reminder to me of it’s history 🙏🏼

Very nice car!! I have a Torch Red 03 Mach, bought it new and have only 4000 miles on it. Wanted to ask about your mirrors…..I just subscribed to your channel. I see they are red now….did you paint them or are they Cobra mirrors? Cobras came with body color mirrors. Really want to do mine to match. Thanks and look forward to seeing more here!!

I watched your part 2 video after I asked you 😊 I figured they were Cobra mirrors….makes a big difference, I really like the look. Top bad Cobra mirrors are so rare n so $$. Would love to put them on mine but don’t wanna paint my original mirrors.

Yea just did the paint correction on the hood myself but I’m waaaaay to scared to put the hood vinyl on…..I can’t even put a sticker on without bubbles most the time

I love those New Edges so much. I miss my 02 GT. I plan on getting another New Edge and possibly the new Dark Horse at some point. If we are forced to ever go Electric, we have decided on the Mustang as well.

Very very very good point you talk about getting the mach1 cheap an fixing it up youself an every thing else but your way better to get a mach 1 all done instead of fixing one up an cheaper most of time an my point i got an 01 mineral gray cobra with low miles 26.000 original miles an people id be around an say man you need to put a supercharger on an get rid of those 327 gears in rear that dummies from ford put in at factory an my friend said with low miles like it had it should hold a supercharger with no problems an not a lot of boost but id say why becaus id just sell it an get a terminator as in your case it would de just as cheap to get a used terminator with medium miles on the car an besides why ruin a low mile cobra voing tgat stuff to the car the only thing i might do one day of i keep tge car is put 355 gears in tge rear but now o can get on the higgway an cruise at 70 to 80 an with rhose gears tgat ford put in it at factory im like only turning about 3500rpm it feels like im coasting an i look at the tack because i dont even feel the trans or engine whine to make sure the motor is still running it effortlessly cruises

I had 5 trans ams growing up I can buy a nice 99 ram air of a 03 Mach 1 has a tremic 6 speed and Whipple super charger not sure which is going to retain the most value

It’s hard to say what people will be looking for in the future, but I would say both are a great option. The mach 1 will be a little more rare.

Don't feel bad for not buying that turd from a liar that was BSing you. Nobody EVER cuts me a break, yet every time I sell a car, I end up giving it away. I hate buying a selling cars due to cheapskates, scammers and such.
