Hello, thanks for the great video. I am currently replacing my fuel pump and filter to my SLK 200. I'm having an issue reconnecting the sender plug which is located at the bottom of the black box that houses the pump. Could you please advise the easiest way raise the box to gain access to connect the plug. Much appreciated.Thanks, Kelvin

Hello I bought a 2005 slk55 amg from auction back in January and it has been sitting for around 4 years. I need to remove the gas tank to get the rust out and also all the wires are decayed from the gas like a similar comment I saw. I can’t find anything on how to remove the gas tank, I’m not sure how to remove the hose that goes to the gas cap.

Getting the gas tank out isn't hard at all, which is good news. You need to remove all the items from the trunk. Then, disconnect the feed line, which is located underneath the car and the breather hose which is inside the trunk. This video gets you half way The fuel tank comes out the trunk lol. Fyi

Hey Panzer , i recently bought a fuel filter fot my SLK 55 amg R171 2005 , just as yours , but it aint OEM , i think its chinese , the part where the connector is supposed to go is sealed in mine , in contrast with the oem one. Any suggestion of what can i do ?

I would highly recommend returning the part, acquiring a oem brand(fcp euro) will have it in stock and a good price

Ever experience the wires inside the fuel tank fraying/disintegrating? Trying to solve this now but the walbro in-tank harness didn't seem to be a fit, while someone else mentioned that a wiring harness from a 2007 s550 may work

@@DraysCars no, ended up parking it for the winter to think of a solution besides buying a new tank which includes the pump assembly etc -- trying to avoid the $6K price tag with that but if I don't find anything by next summer unfortunately that'll be my go to. Can't imagine that it is the only solution out there...
