Ya I think tow mirrors look great on a lifted Silverado but stock rose height kind of looks weird

@@kolereiser no problem their prone to rust on the rocker panels so I’d highly recommend crawling underneath the vehicle and see if you spot any rust

@@kolereiser I do not unfortunately, and everyone has a preference. What might help you decide if you go on custom wheels offsets website and look under their gallery you can get an idea of what it will look like for your truck before you buy them.

My dad is gifting me his 2007 1500 Silverado. Has 100k miles on it, planning on lifting it and putting some nice wheels on it. Super excited to make it into my own. It’ll be my first vehicle so I’m super happy with it.

4.8 is better than the 5.3 it doesn't have afm, the power difference is negligible especially with mods, there is also little difference in the two other than the dreaded afm just .5 liters bigger

I actually heard that before, I also heard it was a better motor to turbo but I’m not so sure if that’s true or not.

How many miles do they usually get up to before they start having issues? I’m not too deep in my pockets for a newer one but there’s an ‘07 that I have my eyes on for $11k but it’s at 170k miles with 2 previous owners. I’m starting to get in tune with having project vehicles anyways just in case I do have to do some work on it, so I was wondering if it’s good in your opinion

If it has no restore minimaleasily fixable rust. That's a good price. If it has some tack rebuild rust with new panels. I would say closer to 9-10k. I live in iowa so these trucks are a hot commodity as noone wants to get rid of em. I'm rebuilding my rear-end with new body panels and gonna replace the rockers and have it all done this summer. I paid 4800 for my truck about 2 years ago before covid went in full swing with the price hike on everything. I was offered 10k flat for mine. But I've got an ltz crew cab short box with the 5.3. So if you can get it for that. It's good

I just bought one about 3 months ago with 168k miles and the transmission is giving issues

@@yunalfo1552 just a suggestion before getting tranny work done.... I heard tuners can drastically change the way your transmission runs and can make it shift a lot smoother. Just a heads up incase you havent looked into that. If you havent done the AFM 5.3 Disabler try that too. That cylinder deactivation is terrible and reduces MPG as-well. Cheers!

I already have 211k on it and all I have done is upgraded the control arms and tie rods made it more beefy

Mine is at 220k it’s a Chevy so you shouldn’t have to worry too much just make sure you keeping it up w the fluids and stuff for the most part

I actually bought it off of Amazon and had them sprayed paint to match locally

@@regism87 no i bought an oem harness from gmpartsdirect.com and ran a power wire from the fuse box and grounded it to the chassis, I also had to buy the fog light switch and got aftermarket led bulbs
