My 2020 Prodigy PROBLEMS?

These are my problems with my new prodigy boat. No hate WHATSOEVER towards prodigy boats just problems i ran across. Thanks for watching, liking and subscribing.

Both my aluminum spud polls are bent. I just bend them back and keep using them. My friends all switched to fiberglass

Any work done to the motor other than the stainless works? I’m about to place my order. 1854 with the mud buddy 40 hdr with the delta level 3 with the stainless works. Just curious your opinion on what you think I should run realistically. I heard you talking about Venice we went down for opening of early teal this year.

It’s a 50hp no work done to it except the heads. If I could do it again I’d do a level 3 40hp. Don’t know the warranty with the lvl3 but the 50hp has a 1 year power head warranty. Then I wanna get some work done and a warranty. Prodigy is a heavy boat so I went bigger. But you’ll probably get more speed out the lvl 3 I think.

ACJ Outdoors hell yeah. Y’all being safe over there? I’ve got some buddy’s in Houma. I’m forsure gonna pull the trigger on it. I’ve seen a video of a 1854 running 38-39 but it looked like a very unloaded basic model prodigy in the video.

Maximillian Moore yea powers out a couple time and water got a little high last night but nothing out the norm. Prob going to get a lvl3 done in about a year when my warranty goes up. Maybe I can push my heavy ass boat a little better. But I got all that extra weight. I don’t really like the open hulls, I like my storage lol

Why did you choose the mud buddy over the gator tail. What was your issues or preferences?

I feel like the mud buddy is more user friendly. Better trailering capability, trim switch on the lower unit, and same motor. So far so good. Just waiting on the folding handle mudbuddy is coming out with.

Hey bud, advice on your dipstick, add some sort of lanyard by connecting to the dipstick loop and then to the small bracket next to it. Use a clip of some kind so you can remove it to check oil. I used a small 1/16” stainless steel cable that you can crimp to any length. I attached it to the motor then clip it to the dipstick loop with a carabiner. Tight enough to keep it from coming out. I had a friend lose dipstick on his motor while running in timber. Not sure what your plans on how you will use your boat, if your gonna duck hunt open lakes, timber or marsh, better to be safe than sorry. Shit I’m guessing just pulling your boat in out of brushed duck blinds, something could grab the loop, pull it out and you won’t notice. Well you know what happens at that point, lose oil while running and the rest is history.

They’re the same motor and similar lower end units. I got the Mudbuddy to have a 50hp with factory warranty and I like the trailering mount and the trim switch on the lower unit. Easy of access. But they’re both pretty similar

That damage is NOT there in your other video where you are showing off your new boat!! You have a close up of that panel in your other video and there is no damage. It is NOT the fault of Prodigy.

Incorrect. The damage was there how I got it. I actually changed it before the video was made. If you go look at it again. There’s another little knick in the aluminum but at the top. Which I am not mad about because it’s not big and it’s at the top. For you to accuse me of doing it is wrong. There is no possible way to tear that up, it is recessed and tight in that space. So no way I could’ve done that. But I got them to send me another one before that video. But thank you for your input.
