Black Lagoon isn’t on hiatus. It just releases slowly with a chapter coming out every two months. In Japan volume 12 is expected to be released this year.

If you’re willing to buy the light novels the Toradora LN series was just completed last year at 10 volumes, with the last volume deviating from the anime. Arifureta is also MUCH further ahead with the light novels because the series started as a web novel, they just released Volume 11 last month, and the anime only covers the first 3-4 volumes. There’s also 4 light novel volumes of the Arifureta Zero series out as well.

Great collection. As a manga collector myself, I am very impressed with your shelves. I'm particularly jealous of the akira box set, which I couldn't get cause it sold out too quick. I am curious about one thing. Sleeves, that is. I'm always torn on it, and never really understood if they actually do something or not. A very acclaimed collector here in Italy says there's actually no big benefit with using sleeves, as they can potentially trap humidity inside and ruin the paper in the long run. As long as you keep your room dust/humidity/sun free, shouldn't the books be alright? I have recently checked the status on my 11 year old Vagabond collection (never sleeved) and it still is in great condition. Also, beauty factor. Don't you think the volumes look bad when enclosed in plastic bags? The visual appeal plays a big role I think. and last, is it really worth it, considering the average volume costs less than 10 dollars? I'd love to hear your take on this. Again, amazing collection mate

In my opinion it was canceled. You can tell it had a rush ending which to me says Shueisha told Inoue he had to wrap things up cuz his ratings on the series were starting to drop. Jump comics are very strict and if your comic isn’t meeting their quota then the series is told to wrap up soon basically canceling it.

@@WetnwildhjReturns To be fair, even if that was true that he had to rush it, it still ended satisfactory by tying up everything neatly. Reading SD was like experiencing a glimpse of Shōhoku's rise in basket and their struggles. If they had won the tournament at the end and quickly wrapped the story up there, i would've been disappointed but it's wasnt like that, it felt very real. We are also getting a movie, so it's kind of continuing!

Yeah I know what you mean. It was wrapped up as nicely as it could be with a fast ending but I would have loved to see Rukawa and Sakuragi become 3rd years and win nationals then Sakuragi tell Haruko his feelings and they become a couple. Then a sequel series 20 years after that ending with their child being a new basketball prodigy would be epic

@@WetnwildhjReturns Yea there is stuff that could've happened, but for this series i felt it was okay to not have Rukawa and Sakuragi winning nationals / tournament but overcoming themselves. the last match was the most thrilling read, and inoue rly put his all into that! I don't think anything could've rly topped that match regardless. tho i def like the idea of Sakuragi and Haruko getting together. Tbh i don't think Inoue would've wanted to tell a new story about Sakuragi's son, like with Kishimoto's Naruto. Inoue seems like the type of person that want to tell a specific story and make it perfect (as he's a perfectionist!).
