I just found your channel today and I'm enjoying it. I used to read all the time when I was younger, and I've gotten away from it as I've become busier as an adult. I'm looking forward to reading more this year and logging it in my bullet journal. One quick language note, you use "lend" when the correct word is "borrow." "Lend" is used when you give something to someone else to use temporarily. "Borrow" is when you receive something from someone else to use temporarily. I've noticed it's a very common mistake for people to make - even some native speakers mix the two up. That said, I'm very impressed with your mix of English and Dutch in your journal. I would have a very difficult time doing the same with English and Spanish; and I certainly would not want to ever try to do a KZbin video all in Spanish!

Another book lover from the Netherlands here! Love the video 💕 If you library doesn't have a certain book, you can often make a purchase suggestion (aanschafsuggestie). If it fits in the collection, which is almost always the case for my library in Utrecht, they'll order it and add it to the collection. That's how I get to read the English versions or books further in the series :)

I like your style. I boringly use Excel. I've got a 'Ridiculous Reading List', which is a full list of all the books I'd like to read in my lifetime, and a 'Done List', which is where I record my books read. It's boring, but I think if I tried to do something like yours, which looks amazing, I just wouldn't follow it through.

I am a very forgetful and messy person so I just use the notes app on my phone to keep track of books and everything else in my life :D but I still might try bullet journaling because I have never done that before :)

I use a spreadsheet too but I include more info than just the book title when I input new reads (like genre, month read, age range, etc.). I set it up so the stats for all my books are automatically compiled in charts/graohs and I also have calculations for average rating, page count, total pages, etc. It's not hard to setup and is very easy to keep up with, it's been a great middle ground for me!

We're pretty spoiled here when it comes to books, and pretty much anything is available almost immediately upon publication. University libraries, too, are impressive. Have you ever borrowed books from the university library in Leiden? I found out through a friend a couple of years ago they have a lot of fiction books, newer releases also. It probably doesn't carry as much as the library in Amsterdam for example, but it might be worth a try. And you can still borrow books there after graduation without subscription fees!:)
