Man you sure know how to keep yourself busy. Learning Japanese, creating youtube videos, game development, weight lifting, drawing etc. It's pretty cool to see that in addition to learning Japanese you also seem to keep on top of your other hobbies/responsibilites. After I started learning Japanese my other hobbies that didn't have anything to do with Japanese kinda went out the window. I look forward to seeing more content from you! Even stuff non-related to Japanese. :)

oh my god its insane how much i can relate to literally everything your channel is about, osu, mechanical keyboards, japanese, gamedev (recently thought about switching to godot as well) drawing, weightlifting, creating youtube videos and I even thought of switching to resolve from vegas pro 13 as well as premiere just seems weird to me. The biggest difference seems to be that you have your shit together tho, I just always end up procrastinating on all of those things :( Instant gratification sucks man... Definitely interested in your future videos, keep it up, you're one of my favourite youtubers at this point ^^

I’ve been watching since your first video but I don’t think I’ve commented yet. I am a software engineer and hobbyist gamedev and would definitely be interested in seeing more of that content from you. I finally started seriously studying Japanese every day 3 months ago. I took it in high school because I wanted to learn but never took it seriously. I just wanted to say that I’ve watched your progress videos quite a few times over now. You are hands down the most inspiring person (in my opinion) when it comes to learning Japanese. Every time I feel my motivation slip I rewatch your videos and it helps a ton. I think I’ll create a video soon on my 3 months of progress in hopes that it’ll help inspire other people like your progress has done for me. Just wanted to say thanks for taking the time to create everything you have so far. I’m excited for whatever you post in the future

i had been ''learning'' japanese for years now. Meaning i learned the Hiragana and Katakana, bought the Minna no Nihongo textbooks and then just never touched them and gave up. However i`ve been actively learning japanese again for around two months now and your videos have been a great motivation. The way i initially went about learning vocabulary was through learning how to write each individual Kanji and its contained radicals, but that was molasse slow and still didn`t guarantee i would remember the words. But after watching a few of your videos, i decided to give Anki a try and even though i`ve only been using it for like 2 weeks or so, it feels like my progress has sped up tenfold. I know i`ll slow down eventually, but using Anki has especially helped me with consistency and motivation and more importantly, i`m now at the stage where learning japanese is genuinely fun and not just something i tell myself is fun so i don`t quit. I`m still happy i learned to write the radicals, because it gives new Kanji a lot more structure in my mind, but without starting SRS, my studying would still be way too inefficient and time consuming. I hope that i can continue on this path and ultimetely get to my endgoal, which is to have such solid basics that i can mostly ditch studying again and keep/ improve my level just through immersion, but right now i`m actually enjoying the japanese learning grind, so that endgoal can still wait.

ur a huge inspiration for me in a lot of things in life, so I hope i can somewhat return the favor by providing at least a little bit of useful insight about the vegas -> resolve transition! my use case is a bit different from the kind of content you make (and you're a significantly more versatile editor), but I'm really glad I made the switch! i do miss some things about vegas (funnily enough I actually prefer the keyframing system to resolve's, though that will probably go away once I become more skilled with it), and it really is so unbelievably frustrating to continuously get stuck and drag through things while thinking "this would've been trivial if i were doing this on the program I'm used to", but it's definitely been worth it. resolve's potential is kind of ludicrous, it's such a powerful piece of software and the fact that it's free, stable (unlike premiere... that was a fun few weeks), and gets frequent updates really just made the switch a no-brainer. I've only made one serious project so far and I already feel like I'm essentially at the level I was with Vegas, and I'm sure the things I can't do at that level yet will come soon enough. I'm super guilty of romanticising the whole ordeal, but it really does feel like there's so much more potential to unlock now that I'm using resolve. hope this was marginally helpful, keep up the great work! :)

@vali69
@vali69 Жыл бұрын
I don't know if I'm doing something wrong but I'm 45% done with core6k. I do a lot of reviews daily, ~100, with a constant +10 new cards per day and I have been doing it for 125 days or 4 months and a few days. I like to just go straight into the card because if I can't recall the word after 5 seconds, I won't remember it after even after a minute, and since I started I have kept a rule of hitting good on newer cards until it tells me that by hitting good they'll reappear within more than a month, if I remember everything on the card, I'll hit good regardless, if I don't remember the card that well, I will hit again. Like I kept new cards in a cycle, just not a daily one. I also have to mention I've also done a tango n5 deck normally, and v2k which I'm 60% done and doing concurrently with core6k. It's also much easier than v2k so I get less reviews for it. My main goal is to learn new words so I'm not too focused on kanji, also since I've found that I somehow ingraine them in my mind with the words I hear, so I don't focus on how they look, their subparts and radicals, I just remember the words when seeing the kanji. Which is exactly what Matt vs Japan said will happen, that you'll look at kanji and immediately know what word it is, similar to how we look at words in the language we acquired and don't go letter by letter but instead we can immediately tell what the word is. Anyhow, I think that with this approach I've taken I'm able to slowly acquire the words together with the sentences but with a larger pool of words, while with the tango n5 deck I was able to learn all the words in there(to the point where I don't even hit again anymore after 8 months with the deck) in 4 months but with a lot of daily repetition that sometimes brough 150 reviews daily. Now I can get exposure to a whole lot of words and slowly learn and acquire, which I find especially effective when I get a card I already know and remember seeing the words within it in my immersion. Like, with all this I tried to adapt to myself. I, most likely than not, have ADHD and probably also Asperger's, and can't focus on anki for more than half an hour, I'm not able to recall cards that I hit again on to repeat in a session. Something that I did a lot while trying to learn kanji in the rrtk deck which ended up making me hate the whole process because at the time I didn't know I had ADHD or it's symptoms or that it meant that my inability to remember something short term is caused by it and I can't do anything about it and the fact that someone could tell me to do something but I would immediately, like after 5 seconds, forget what they told me to do either entirely or partially so I would end up asking them to repeat what they said. I don't even know why I wrote all of this, I guess I just want someone's approval and being told that what I'm doing will in fact help me acquire Japanese. I've spent like half an hour on it also, so I'm not going to delete it.

No, I've tried multiple times, but I can't daily drive it due to how many programs are missing, and some other stuff that bugged me. But I'm glad it has Linux support because it means that it opens more doors for using Linux. I thought of making some video about trying to daily drive Linux in the future as well, even though I don't have much incentive for it right now.

Check the description of the sentence mining youtube video, and the QnA video, there are some I like. But generally, just search for random stuff on youtube until you find someone you like. Generally, its easier to do the better you get at the language.
