Wonderful!! I love seeing your new craft space! I'm happy for you. Wonderful to hear your voice too. I'll have to watch this again as there are several items I've always loved and would love to purchase if they are available. Hugs, sweet Cathy!! ~ Audrina from DFW. P.S. I would treasure the most simple card from you. I can send you my address if you are willing. Am I a begger? Possibly. Probably. :)))

I usually go to Lowes or Home Depot and clear them out of the magnet vent closer. You get 3 to a pack and can be cut down to have 12 5x7s. Then cut down if need smaller size. I double stick tape them, then arrange and slide the stamp that goes with it, into it. :)

I honestly cannot say there is one specific thing I liked most! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it all. I just retired to care for my elderly parents and after the passing of my Dad last November, I found myself with so much free time it was depressing. I returned to embroidery, which I really enjoy and just started to dab at card making. Your craft room is so well organized, attractive and lovely. I even like your voice, soothing, not too fast at speech and believe and hope to learn card making with you! Thank you for sharing your inspiration. Be blessed!

My craft room used to be a screened in porch. It's been closed in with windows. It's long and narrow like a bowling lane. It's cluttered right now with my craft area on one side of the room and my personal living room on the other. Plus I'm a beginner knitter who collects yarn so I need to pare down and reorganize so I have more room to move about

Thanks Cathy Z for showing us your new room where your creative magic happens - as someone that also lives in an old century house I "get it" we just have to look at the quirks as it's personality. I will say, as much as I love your new creative digs, I do miss getting to see your Orchids that live in the Craft/Dining Room. Thanks for the name dropping on/of the products that are working well for you, it's always helpful to see and hear about new to us products, we gals who love crafting love the tips and inside info. Again, Thanks for your tips of the trade. The only thing missing was getting to see your grand-kitty today.

I need to unpack the rest of my stuff before I can even begin to figure out how to organize it and where it will all go. I got some really good ideas fro your tour. I believe this took you several months right? At this point, I can't create anything yet because I can't find what I want! Y'all, that was a fun tour. I love and work best in organization. I'm happy for you that you were able to move upstairs and have that dedicated space. What a fun place. I'm sure it took a wee bit of time deciding where to put what and make it functional. I see some of your storage that I want/need. I've never heard of some of these companies so thank you for introducing those to us. Thanks for the tour and I hope you get many years of pleasure out of creating in the CZ zone. OH MY GOODNESS I CAN’T BELIEVE I FOUND YOU ON KZbin! I bought your book, Clean & Simple Scrapbooking, over 15 years ago when I first got into scrapbooking, way before social media, back when I was in high school. Saw your video pop up on my feed, immediately recognized your name, and was shocked! Good to see you still crafting, Cathy! Your craft room is lovely ☺️

Oh wow, that is wild. And also? That fact that you got into scrapbooking in high school? I love it. yeah, i switched to cardmaking in 2017 and kind of haven't looked back. I still take basically the same clean and simple approach to designing card projects! I still love Scrapbook and I just don't do it anymore! But i have PLENTY of albums to look at over the years!

Love your new space! Thanks for taking the time to share it and inspire us! I work in a craft/hallway - it's uber tiny, but organized and it works for me! Ikea is awesome for organizing small spaces for less money, and while I don't have a Kallax (yet), I do have several of their plain kitchen cabinet boxes (no doors!) hung on the wall for amazing paper storage. I have tons of 12x12 cardstock (I make cards and 3d projects for sale at my artists co-op)and they can handle the weight. I am obsessed with my 3 kivissle drawer organizers, so thanks for sharing that they will fit in a kallax one day!

I love your space. If I had known 4 years ago that I would still be in this world and space, I would have done the same thing by buying the IKEA items. They make storage so easy but I had folding shelves from Origami. And so I used what I had. I use plastic storage boxes from Iris to hold my stamps and they stack. Paper is kept in a long item with paper slots. It works fine. When my roommate had to move to a rehab unit, I had a 2 bedroom apartment by myself and no furniture to fill the living room. It is now my studio and about the size of your office. Your set-up looks great and is easy to work with. I love the video. Thanks for all the joy you bring to fellow crafters. I love watching you make and hearing you BOOP. You go, girl!

I had to make my own dividers for my papers. I bought thick clear Mylar and cut it to 12x12 or bought it that size and added removable , erasable tabs to them. It’s nice you found some made! I’ll be checking out a lot of the little things I might be able to afford. I just bought paper trays for my 8.5x11 papers so I’m exited about that. The one thing you’ve done I really wish I could afford to do, is put them in the pockets. That keeps the from getting dusty and can hold half sheets or quarters well. But if you added only that up. You have a whole house in that room! Lol I know what they cost because I wanted them as soon as they came out, but not on disability. I’m ashamed of my room. It’s so important to me I’d sell half my furniture if I could buy those page pockets! I love those. I also would have a peg wall like you have for the things that I’d like to organize differently. But definitely jealous of the pocket folders. No hiding it. Butt it’s got to be the closest that ng to being in heaven with a room so nice!

However, @bethadilly's hubby told me about the video arm mounts! so I'm grateful to him for that! I have a lot of friends who do this type of content creation, and they have all been helpful as well. I may do a separate video at some point just focusing on getting set up with the technical stuff but that remains to be seen!

We do all have them! I like it primarily for filming because it is the best lighting set up that I've found so far but I also like it for creating because it's really easy to clean and you can use it to smoosh ink cubes onto for painting, you can blend on it… and it's a nice size so I can really spread out. I never thought I would like walking on glass because I've always worked on self-healing mat, but I will never go back at this point.!

Wow! Love your craft room. I have a spare bedroom as my space which I love, but I don’t have coordinating storage pieces. I do have 1 Alex drawer which I love, & an IKEA tabletop with rolling legs & small desk.the 2 wall cubicle units are from Kmart many years ago & are only 11x11 cubes (9 cubes per unit), so a lot of things (eg paper, IKEA drawers, etc) don’t fit in them. But I make it work. I have been doing acrylic & watercolor painting for several years, started making all my own cards in 2016 when I retired, and recently started playing around with distress inks/oxides & soft pastels. I just finished a little organizing of the various mediums I have so I can find what I need as I do something with a particular medium. It’s much more fun crafting when I have things put away & I can right into playing!😊

Hello Cathy! Have to say sometimes I miss your opening “craft/dining room”. I’m excited to see your craft room and happy that you have a designated crafting space. I’ll have to catch it later on Saturday. I’m taking an all day card class at the Enchanted Cottage, Lewisville, North Carolina on Saturday. Spending the day there with my crafty friends. Thank you in advance for sharing!

Love your new craft room, I love old houses and I think you have done an amazing job with your space. I recognized your wooden chairs in the ding room. The house I grew up in Detroit with my grand parents had wooden chairs just like yours. About 10 years ago my husband and I moved into an old house and had a Mitsubishi Wall mounted unit put in , in about 4 rooms,, It was expensive but so worth it. 🙂

So worth it right? Ours is Mitsubishi, too! I wish I would have put one in our bedroom, too but… it would have been double the cost! lol.

OMG, Cathy....I would do anything to be as organized as you. It's such a beautiful craft room and so is the area you create in. I've always loved that about you, girl! Thanks, so much, for going to all this extra work to share your spaces with us...I really appreciate it. Now, hopefully, I will finally get mine in order

Thank you so much for sharing. I think it's a beautiful space. I have no feelings about where you create...I just loved when you said craft slash dining room... it made me laugh. I'll follow you wherever you craft.

Thank you, Cathy! This was such fun to see how you've set up your space for now. I am so glad you moved upstairs, I loved you working in your craft/dining room but always felt bad about your shaky table. I used to work on a folding table and when I moved to a solid work surface, the difference was fabulous. Love your craft space, the video was worth waiting for!

I will say you do not need all the things I have to be a Contant creator. I used to just film everything with my iPhone and a really cheap mic and it was fine. I just had the need to have it be a little more fancy!

It has its charm. We have lived here for 30 years this summer. We bought it when we were young with no kids and it had four bedrooms so we figured we never had to upsize. Plus, we wanted to live in the city limits of St. Paul. We've had to fix a lot of things over the years, but we love this house. I'm grateful my kids grew up in the same house for their whole lives.

Wonderful space!! That closet isn’t scary to me - great use of that & I, too, added shelves to the very small closet in the small spare bedroom we have - works great but my biggest & remaining challenge is not having enough actual table-space to work on. I’m going to have to figure it out but I have had to use a section of my room to work from home with my job which changed how I had previously used the room. I have a nice assortment of Ikea pieces, some same as you have. I’m so happy for you, Cathy. Despite my remaining challenges & limited space, it’s a blessing to have my own room in which to make my crafts. I hope you enjoy your immensely!!
