@robbylayton can we all agree that MFG’s need to knock it off with all the fake bead locks. It’s fine if they make them for those who either like the look or at least the bling of the fake bolt heads. But some of us just want decent looking wheels that aren’t mirror finished chrome or fake bead locks. I’d love some retro aluminum rims, just bigger than the 15-16” 😂

Squeeze some air out of the lock tight bottle, before you apply it facing down. That way, after your drop is applied, you let the bottle suck the air back in and you don't spill any

Step two of tire wheel balancing: If too much weight is needed, rotate the tire 180* on the wheel & try again. Many times you can reduce the amount of weight needed to balance. Maybe y'all already did that?

If you have to put a ridiculous amount of weights on a wheel to balance it, Break the bead and rotate the tire on the rim 180 degrees and reseat the bead.
@MrStaybrown

Right. Sometimes the tire has a mark indicating where the valve stem should be for easy balancing.
@rockweeks5697

And if that doesn't work then take the tire off the rim and try it on another rim. This usually works as long as you're not mounting up the last tire.

@RobbyLayton Awesome color choice for the suspension pieces & the rims. Blue is 1 of my favorite colors plus blue & black is prolly my favorite color combo out there. Love the start to the upgrades to the truck. Fyi: Ive heard that when installing upper & lower control arms its best to not torque them down while in the air should wait till it on the ground at ride height so the bushings dont get overly twisted inside the control arms bc they arent made to rotate that much.

Fun Fact... BDS is short for Big Dicks Suspension. When I bought the lift double wrapped leaf springs for my Old CJ-7, they also sent me a t-Shirt. Was my favorite shirt at the time, so, it got wore out too fast, but, it had a cartoon on it and it said "Get deeper in the the bush, with Big Dicks suspension. (Suspension was in smaller letters). But it all makes sense when you know that BDS is an Australia company.
@hackfabrication139
@hackfabrication139 6 ай бұрын
BDS in not an Australian company. It's based in Coldwater, Michigan. USA made. Check their website for info and history. I actually went there (back in the 90's) to purchase the 2.5" BDS lift for my 1976 Jeep CJ5. Sport Truck USA (the retailer, also in Coldwater and other locations), sent me to the factory to pick up a few of the parts for the kit that they didn't have on the shelves. From what I heard, BDS was started by a few of the TrailMaster employees (also in Coldwater at the time). You're right about what the name BDS is.
@chipprice1174
@chipprice1174 6 ай бұрын
@@hackfabrication139 I did go and search for it's origin, and you are correct, waas not Australia. I was misinformed way back in the 90's by the dealer I bought mine from. Wonder where he got that idea? Anyway, I bought those springs because I had broke a couple mainleafs on my Jeep, I think because I had done a spring over on it. With the double wraps, (basically two main leafs) I never broke one again. I did how ever have to warranty them several times due to sagging, again because of the spring over. Only real issue I had was the center bolts were 5/16" bolts, After a couple of those breaking, I re-drilled them to 7/16 and never had an issue. BTW thanks for correcting me on the origin!
