The Grizzlies are more likely to be a play in team around the Thunder, Pels, Mavs teams than a top 3 seed, especially with Ja missing a 1/3 of the season. Lakers, Clippers, Warriors, Timberwolves, & Kings I think will have a better record than the Grizzlies. Relying on JJJ & Bane to be your 1 & 2 scoring options for 1/3 of the season isn’t gonna have you as top 3 seed in a loaded West. Every single game is gonna matter for seedings just like it did last year when they basically didn’t know the 5th-9th seed until the very last game. I don’t think they have enough offense without Ja & the 25 game suspension is gonna hurt them.

Ja missed 21 games last year so that's not that different from missing 25 games. Last year JJJ, Bane, Clarke and Adams also missed 20+ games each with Adams missing 40. Despite all those injuries they were only 2 games behind a fully healthy Nuggets. Ja missing 25 games is nothing compared to the injuries they had last year and if anything, they'll be healthier this year. I think people are seriously underestimating the Grizzlies. I say this as a non-grizzlies fan

As a heat fan we are honestly better than we were to start last season despite everyone thinking we got worse. We actually have a power forward and viable backup centers, more depth overall, and some really promising younger players that could take big leaps this year. Not to mention max and Nnamdi were pretty inconsistent overall during the regular season, and we picked up J Richardson who is already very familiar with the system.

Unless Ja developed into a consistent middy or 3 point shooter the grizz ain't gonna be a 3 seed they don't have that much shooting. Literally La was only worried about desmond bane and luke and bane laid some eggs ngl. Smart a good pickup he can play 1-3 if need be but Mikal bridges would have made them titles favorites for sure. Cause then shooting doesn't really matter just got to be average when u have a great defense and ur destorying the glass getting boards.

Nuggets will go back to back I am backing them up still in 2024. Yes we lost Bruce Brown and Jeff Green but I think we have the best starting lineup in the NBA. I think our new young bench will step up this year. I feel like they have that potential. I also think we have the best chemistry in the league as well. For all those reasons that is why I think we go back to back in my opinion this year.

Realistically it all depends on the raptors bench depth which I think they’ve really improved and Barnes development which so far this pre season he’s improved dramatically. Of course Darko’s new system and coaching style will play a factor. In the end I see there range being between 5-8.

Thunder at 11 and spurs at 15 is kinda insane... Chet is a beast and the team won't get worse from last season. The spurs similarly got better better just with the young guy's getting better... and they added the best prospect since Lebron James into the mix and are no longer tanking. Having teams like Utah, Houstan, and Portland in front of the spurs is kinda crazy IMO

Rob Williams and Brogden have been known to be injury prone, and outside of Grant, Simmons, and Ayton, everyone is unproven and very young. I think you'd have to be very optimistic that these guy's are all as good as they can be, simultanously, with good coaching and good health. And that's JUST to make the playin, the west is fucking insane this year.

Overall I really liked your predictions and pretty much everything you said. The one thing I disagree with the most is where you have the Mavs. I’m super low on them and think they’re going to be the 11th seed again. 6th seems way too high for me (I could see up to 7 maybe). Their roster is just extremely bad to me outside of Luka, Kyrie, and Grant Williams. Meanwhile every other west roster seems extremely good to me. But like I said I liked every other take (except I’m a wolves fan so I’d prefer you’d put them higher but 8 is a respectable take lol).

Oof those west predictions turned out terrible. Seems like you chased the old veteran teams like GSW and Lakers at a time when the young teams were blazing past them. 1. Denver - well just about everyone was going to go denver there. 2. Suns - were too thin and injury prone and sit in 7th and have a BRUTAL last stretch that may drop them to even 8th or 9th. 3. Grizzlies - currently 13th in the west. 4. Lakers - currently 9th 5. GSW - currently 10th 6. Dallas - currently trying to cling on to 8th. 7. Clippers - with Harden have turned into a force in 4th. 8. Timberwolves - put it all together and are now in 3rd. 9. Kings - nope, they are basically exact same record as last year, though with a packed west that means 6th (but with an easy schedule down the stretch). Just destroyed Buck and Lakers on a back to back. Why did everyone bet that the young team would get injured while the old teams would stay healthy? it's crazy. 10. Pelicans - put it together, stayed fairly healthy, and sit in 5th. 11. OKC - unfortunately, they took a huge jump and are 2nd in the west. Big miss. They were on the come up I don't understand the logic of thinking they'd be way down here. 12. Jazz - hit, they are in 12th right now. Basically a middle of the road team that's kinda rebuilding. 13. Rockets - well they are far closer to play in contention than you seem to have thought. Currently 11th. 14. Blazers - yeah they were rebuilding. 15. Spurs - yeah they were rebuilding. I think that's nearly as bad as one could have missed the records this season. 😅 Always fun to look back at the predictions though. Would love to see a video update that discusses predicted vs real records.

I think a lot of people are underrating Phoenix's defense. They were 9th in defensive rating post-trade deadline last year with a starting lineup of: CP3 / Booker / Okogie / Durant / Ayton, with rotation pieces being Cam Payne, Landry Shamet, Terrence Ross, TJ Warren, Torrey Craig, and Jock Landale/Bismack Biyombo. Now, they have a starting lineup of Beal / Booker / Okogie / Durant / Nurkic. Beal is a better defender than CP3 imo, considering CP3 was getting specifically targeted on defense by a lot of teams. Nurkic is worse than Ayton playing at his best defensively, but considering how disengaged Ayton was, I don't think there will be as big of a downgrade as people think. Plus, their bench has better guard and wing defenders in Jordan Goodwin, Grayson Allen, Eric Gordon, and Keita Bates-Diop. The team also has a lot of wingspan if you look position by position, which will probably help. I don't think they'll be an elite defense, but I think they'll certainly be top 15 and possibly top 10.

Hornets at #14 is crazy. OKC and SAC are good takes. Your Grizzlies pick isn’t hot enough, they WILL be the number one seed. Nuggets at one a touch high and Suns WAY too high.
