Jayson Tatum has these games where he start 5/5 or 6/9 from three or something, then he feels confident and shoots something like 1/5 or 0/6 for the rest of the game. I remember he was 5/5 against the cavs and went 1/5 for the rest of the game. Against the wizards, he was 6/9, then shot 0/5 for the rest of the game. If Tatum didn't take so many chucks or bad threes with no flow just cause he's "hot," he could shoot like 40 or 41% from three.

Hawks are a weird situation. Sorta like a 2015-2016 situation. Trae is the offensive engine, Dyson Daniels is the defensive engine, JJ has the strongest on/off +/-. All 3 are essential to them having any success throughout the year and none are a bad choice really. It's really not a "Trae Young and friends" situation anymore, there's a lot going on with Hawks personnel potentially taking the next step. Hell, Dyson and Bogi arguably led their respective Olympic teams to a lot of the success they had in the off-season. Hawks are a weird team. Could easily have a bit winning streak or a big losing streak at any point during the season and neither would surprise me at all.

I think RJ Barrett deserves some love for Toronto. Averaging 23/6.5/6.5 this year and has looked really confident over the last few games. More aggressive on the glass and his playmaking has been unbelievable. He showed out in that OT loss against the Celtics. 25/15/10
@lyleugleman377315 сағат бұрын
I'd still give the edge to Poeltl, though. RJ has been great, but his super high usage due to the injuries is really inflating his numbers. Poeltl is having the best year of his career right now. Been putting up Shaq-like performances lately and very good efficiency. RJ is somewhat lacking the the efficiency department, but he's also shouldering a lot of the offensive load too. Both guys having good years so far.

Hawks offensive has been quite comfortably the worst in the league when Trae sits also it's clear JJ is a 2nd option scorer but not a first currently in the win over the Celtics Dyson really rose to fill up the scoring gap Trae left behind not JJ. Jalen's also playing a cool 40 minutes a night so he often has defensive lapses or paces himself to not burn through his reserves but largely he has an incredible defensive ceiling and he's coasting more than you'd like him to be he's clearly still figuring everything out but Trae is still our best player and as an offensive engine he's putting points on the board especially with all the guard injuries this team has faced.
@lyleugleman377315 сағат бұрын
Poeltl been playing the best hoops of his entire career. You're not wrong there. First NBA player since Shaq to have a three game span of: 90 points, 20+ off rebounds/20+ def rebounds while shooting over 70% from the field. Pretty nutty.

I want Tyler Herro to make that leap, cause he is definitely an all star level player, hope he makes it this year. Offense should run through him at this point, even with Jimmy out there. If Bam and Jimmy can step up as well, cause especially Bam has been bad this season for his standards Miami might be a sleeper.

shae has been incredibly comfortable with the basketball; watching the Blazers ' three game-win streak has been awesome. Scoot is raising some concerns, but I think once ant, grant, and hopefully ayton are out, he can flourish as the team's playmaker. I have hope for him still, time will tell.

I hope you're joking, that guy is not an mvp, he has a killer team around him no doubt and I wouldn't even say he's necessarily the absolute best on that team, I think the team makes him look a lot better than he truly is and if he was saying on the Nuggets he would be not so hot and if it was on Boston they would not be able to lose.
