I would love to do the Hebrew in 6 weeks (though I doubt 6 weeks is possible for me!). I have been reading Paradise Lost by John Milton. In it he has Eve by herself when she was tempted by Satan but my translation says Adam was with her. I made that comment to my son and he said, Milton didn’t know Hebrew but in the Hebrew Satan is speaking to both Adam and Eve using the second person plural. And it made me wish I knew Hebrew! That was yesterday and then this morning I see you are going to learn Hebrew! I want to as well!

Hi Faith! I think this Hebrew language book is too simple... and probably for children! I'm going to have to get something written for adults so I can learn more, but this will help me learn the lettering system that is so different than ours, and will teach me a few words. Paradise Lost sounds so challenging to read (I have considered it). The issue about Eve being tempted... I thought she was alone and then Adam approached after she made the decision to eat the wrong fruit. I need to read that chapter of Genesis again!! It sure is a good thing to learn Hebrew to understand it better. Your son's comment intrigues me!

I love archeology in general so I think that's a great topic and the book looks good. Thanks for creating the challenge. I look forward to seeing the books you're going to read!

@@mageetu... I thrive on my attempts to be organized. Chaos interferes with my ability to get things done. Unfortunately my art studio is terribly cluttered and unorganized right now so no art making is happening. I need to get that fixed right now.

Heaven by Randy Alcorn is one of my all-time favorite Christian non-fiction books. SO good. I like RevReads channels, although i haven't watched very many of his videos. That textual criticism book he reviewed sounds very interesting! I've got a whole shelf of Christian non-fiction I need to work through before I buy anything new, though.

I also have a lot of Christian nonfiction on my shelves. Unread. I want to read a lot of that this year... or at least make a good start of reading it. Good to hear the Heaven book is good. Thick books feel intimidating to me, but what a good topic! And I should watch RevReads more than I do. He's always got interesting things to say about the books he reads.

Hebrew in six weeks sure seems ambitious! Sounds like a big reading plan this year

I think this Hebrew book is too easy - it seems to be for children and teaches just the alphabet and a few words! I'm going to have to buy a more comprehensive book on Hebrew as soon as I get done with this one. And I want to learn to speak it, not just to read it.

Hello! I know it will be challenging for me to get through so much Christian nonfiction this year, but I do want the education! So I'll try. The first book was not too hard for me to read. I don't think any of these books are scholarly. I'm trying to avoid scholarly or textbook style writing.

As someone commented, you really are organized. Ms. Linda, have you read "Killing Jesus" by Bill O'Reilly? I highly recommend that book. Take care -James & Bella!

@@BookLadyLinda One youtuber that has a History channel said do not read anything by Bill OReilly because he is just a TV newsman. But that isn't true. ORielly has a BA degree in History. and I have read quite a few of his books and either him or Dugard his co-writer knows how to write! Bill's "Killing Series" is awesome. -James

@Littlebiglibrary loopholes are an option. I did make an exception for audiobooks since I go through them quickly and often.. do O'Reilly books have a lot of photos?
