I too was on the fence about getting the CSR. However, after much deliberation decided to go amex plat + Gold. I just keep my CSP for hyatt or southwest transfers & my wife & kids use door dash quite frequently

@@LukesPointsandMiles Chase Ink Unlimited is one I need the most...need to refill the Chase points bucket, have a nice Chase catchall on the business side, and the 0% APR for 12 months. Just nervous they will approve it even though my numbers are better than when I had my first Ink card (shouldn't be because worst case it is a hard pull hit). You and Stan and others have me considering an IHG Business after that but it also might be the Southwest Business. Then maybe the Hyatt personal even though not a great card but stay at Hyatt quite a bit and could certainly use the welcome offer for stays this year. Then back over to Amex probably for a replacement card for my Hilton Business card slot, probably premium Delta or if not pop up blocked, Hilton Aspire. That's the lineup for the year probably.

After having the CSR twice, with two SUBs, last year I opened a CSP for points transfers. My Ritz-Carlton gets me in Sapphire lounges and spas.

Great video! I agree that AMEX is unequivocally #1. Chase is great for beginners, but if you're willing to be an optimizer, its hard to justify not loading up that gold card...especially when you're planning a mega trip where every point and transfer bonus counts. And you can always upgrade back to the CSR when it makes sense.

I moved down to Freedom Flex and never used it. Other Chase cards I have; United, United Business (with recent 100k sign up bonus) Southwest Airlines, IHG. and Marriott. Next on the list this year : IHG Business and Hyatt Personal

Luke, I also prefer Ink Preferred card over CSP card myself. Since you are way over 5/24, it probably make sense to acquire Ink Preferred card first, then downgrade CSR to something else. Last thing you want is having tons of UR points and nowhere to transfer the points! 😆😅

I’m currently using the Amex trifecta with a CSP and CFU as a back up. I’m trying to rotate to using the CFU as my catch all, and the Citi Strata Premier to replace the Gold card. My wife really likes AA, and One World is great for flights to Asia.

I'm going with this Chase set up: Chase Freedom Unlimited, Amazon Prime Visa, Chase Sapphire Preferred and Chase Ink Business Cash. I an way over 5/24 so I will have to stick with this although I would like to get the Chase Ink Unlimited when I am able to. This is my primary mainly due to transferring points over to Southwest to fly from HI to CA (I have the Companion Pass so my wife flies free).

100% agree. Going to downgrade sapphire and use ink preferred for transfers/cell/travel expenses. 5/24 is something i will monitor for p2, as i won’t be under for 18 months. Mostly biz cards for me

Really like the ink preferred cell protection and it takes affect the day u pay your bill i have a big family and. 7 lines on my family plan savings on apple care more than payee for the card. Ins very reasonable to use

When staying at one place for more than one week, do you think it's better to do hotel with in-room kitchen... Or airbnb? I've been disappointed with the lack of consistency at airbnb's. Some of them were very dirty. I heard that in response to airbnb, the major hotel chains have stepped up and created more accommodations with in-room kitchens. My travel plans are two years away. I feel if I accumulate points, I can make extended stay hotels more economical than using airbnb. What are your thoughts?

@@LukesPointsandMiles Here's my two year point accumulation plan to do this 30 day hotel stay plus other future endeavors. I recently got the Amex gold card and I am working on meeting the minimum spend. After that I am considering doing the Chase Business Ink Preferred. After I've met the minimum spend on those two cards. I'm considering the Amex Bonvoy Brilliant. And after that, a Hilton rewards credit card. I'll consider the IHG Premier, but there's too much minimum spend before considering a fifth card.

As far as Amex goes, I believe the only thing that holds them back and the reason why I feel Chase is better than Amex is Chase uses Visa, which is widely more accepted around the world, so for travel, Chase really takes advantage. I also like a one-and-done type of card, so knowing Chase SR is my dining and travel card really makes it easy, especially because I know I have 1 annual fee, unlike Amex, where if I were to rock the a equivalent setup, I would need the Platinum and Gold.

I typically spend 0 or 60 days overseas. Amex is not an issue, either bc planes, hotels, and car rentals usually accept or I just use USBAR. Tap 2 Pay to is EVERYWHERE (even toilets)! …. except in US😒

My guess is you are LOL/24, which is fine, but P2 can get the Sapphire Preferred Biz and the SUB. Why PC to a card and not get the value? There is NOTHING stopping u from moving points back and forth between you and P2. Anyway, good luck

@@LukesPointsandMiles If she has CSP/CSR/CBP (AKA one of the transfer cards) then u do not need one. But if she is eligible to get a card with the SUB - then bingo. In the end, the dream with P2 and P1 is to rotate SUB and use the card that is active for that year as the go card. That keeps Chase happy and u safe.

You can borrow me for an hour if you replace my water heater. I have extremely hard water and I need to change the heating elements very frequently. I really don’t like doing it. Either way, I would never hesitate to get a card that I will use and get value from because of chase 5/24. Earn points now as opposed to later. Never regret getting a card you want. Never wait.
